A book of cool "postcards" from Paige,
By A Customer
This review is from: Paige by Paige: A Year of Trading Spaces (Paperback)
This book is obviously aimed at the younger set with its simple diary approach, but it's fun for any fans of the show to read. I learned things about Paige and about the show, but mostly it was just fun to feel like an insider following Paige and the Trading Spaces crew around by going through this book. I like the snapshots and simple day-to-day musings about what's happening. Think of this as postcards from Paige! That's how it looks and feels, and it's well worth the money if you love the show.

I really enjoyed this book. I felt like Paige really opened up honestly to share her year with us. She shares her joys, disappointments, and embarrassing moments with us. Reading her book was like reading a letter from a friend. Silly me, after I finished the book, I felt like she was a friend.

A Fun Book For Fans!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Paige by Paige: A Year of Trading Spaces (Paperback)
Ever want to know what happens behind the scenes of Trading Spaces? Paige Davis has written a journal of the last year as host of the show, and the result is a fun, honest look at what it's like to bring the show together. It sounds really exhausting, actually. There's also lots of fun pictures of the cast and crew and of homeowners, and all sorts of souvenirs from the road. The design is cool, too, it looks like a spiral notebook and some pages look torn out, some have post-it notes and pictures. My daughter loves the book and shows it to her fiends so I got my own! Its' fun!

GREAT BOOK!!,

This review is from: Paige by Paige: A Year of Trading Spaces (Paperback)
I think this is a very wonderful book and I highly recommend it. Its very funny. Paige Davis not only wrote about some of the things that happened on the show, like in one episode where one of the homeowners came out wearing nothing but a tool belt, to personal experiences. She wrote about personal leave, her wedding anniversary, commercials she did, and some stupid mistakes she also did. She wrote about encounters with a wet diaper, (Laurie's sons diaper), and friendly get together with the cast and her own family. She did a wonderful job writing it and once I started reading I couldn't put it down. Paige is a very funny lady! Like I said in the first sentence I HIGHLY recommend this book for anybody even if they don't watch Trading Spaces! I give it 5 Stars!RAVK

An intriguing inside look at Trading Spaces,
By
This review is from: Paige by Paige: A Year of Trading Spaces (Paperback)
This was an easy-to-read, straightforward book that can easily be read in one sitting. It was so intriguing to get an inside look at some of what goes on behind the cameras, the stuff viewers don't get to see in any of the TS episodes. Paige's autobiography was just enough to really whet my interest in knowing EVERYTHING that goes on behind the scenes...I just can't get enough. As an autobiography, the book really focused a tad bit more on the show rather than herself, but that was fine with me because that's what I really wanted to know. That's not to say she doesn't give us any information about herself; she does give a fairly descriptive overview of her life, but it wasn't so overwhelmingly detailed that I got bored with it, and it was balanced well with a sort of TS biography. I wish they would make a DVD set that chronicles all of the events in the making of just ONE episode, because I am SO interested to see all the behind-the-scenes stuff.

Paige by Paige,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Paige by Paige: A Year of Trading Spaces (Paperback)
Imagine being behind the scenes of America's favorite decorating show. Paige Davis is the host of Trading Spaces on TLC and is the author of her first new book Paige by Paige. In her book she takes you behind the scenes of the show and her life. You'll get to know the real Paige outside of Trading Spaces. As Paige takes you behind the scenes of the show, you learn that the show is actually longer than two days and it is taped in a different order. The opening of the show and the part where Paige introduces the show in a voice over, are shot a couple of days before the show begins. In the book Paige writes about the hassle she had once with her plane and luggage. She even takes you behind the scenes of the parties she went to. She wrote almost everyday, her book is like a diary and she writes about whatever happened in one day. She says that the crew and her are like one big family. Paige Davis uses first person and simplistic vocabulary but there are a few difficult words. This book is Non-Fiction because it is about things that really happened in life. I would suggest that anybody who is interested in Trading Spaces reads this book because I like Trading Spaces and I loved this book. I would also suggest people that are a host or going to be a host of a television show read this book. Finally, I would suggest this book to people who like learning about other's lives.

I love the show and have always thought Paige was great as the host and so I just had to read this book. I am so glad I did too. Paige takes the reader behind the scenes and shares stories and disasters from the set of the show. She shares her experiences and fills the book with interesting and heartfelt writing, which is sometimes even comical. This is a great book for everybody, even if you don't watch the show.

Short, sweet and satisfying,

This review is from: Paige by Paige: A Year of Trading Spaces (Paperback)
I just finished Paige by Paige and really enjoyed the insiders look at this fascinating TV show. The logistics involved in putting these shows together are really amazing. The book is written like a journal so you get virtually a daily account of what Paige is doing or what's on her mind. It's SO refreshing to find a celebrity who is just as charming, witty and endlessly perky as she appears to be on television. Her devotion to her husband, friends and the show shines through on every page. I may have been hoping for more gossip about the designers or home owners:-}, but this book is more about Paige's experience and you really get the feeling that she is humble and grateful and enjoying the ride of her life!

I really enjoyed this and wish it had been longer. It's done in diary/journal format. There isn't as much behind-the-scenes info, and sometimes there isn't much about the episodes at all. However, the book gives a lot of insight into Paige, both from what she writes and the way she writes. There are a few people who have written reviews complaining about how it's all about Paige or it's egotistical, etc., and my response is "duh." It's written as a diary, and most people who keep diaries are writing mainly about themselves; that's the point. If you want to learn more about Trading Spaces, then this book isn't very helpful, but it does give some info, and if you're a fan of Paige, I'd say go for it. I only wish she'd written more.

This book is a lot of fun. It has lots of candid snaps taken by Paige during a year of Trading Spaces, and it also has info on what really happens behind the scenes. If you love the show, you have to love this book. Paige seems as cute in the book as she does on TV too.
