5.0 out of 5 stars Actually, a very informative book
I personally learned a lot from reading this book. I found this woman's story very interesting and informative. She may not be a professional therapist, but she has an enquiring mind and writes about the subject in a responsible way. I found it very valuable to read about her experiences on the road to greater health. I did not find the mention of other related...

I totally agree with the other review. When I bought this book I was looking for something totally different... something specifically about Far Infrared Therapy. I totally agree with the other review. When I bought this book I was looking for something totally different... something specifically about Far Infrared Therapy. I'd say 98% of this book has little to do with the title. This book is full of little stories about this woman's journey and stories about her children and each paragraph I read like this I keep waiting for the tie-in to FIR, or even just for a point, and most times there is no tie-in and there is not point to her little story. I hate to be mean, but I'm a bit annoyed that this book was sold with this title when it has so little to do with FIR Mineral Therapy- the title totally mis-represents this book!

If you're looking for a professional look at FIR Therapy and are already aware of most of the alternative "therapies" out there and already understand nutrition and energy and toxicity and cleansing and all that stuff, (or maybe you're new to all this), don't waste your time or money. There are better books out there on each of these topics.

I would even be more interested in reading about someone's journey into natural health & healing if they were a bit more serious about that journey than this author seems to be.

I would have rated the book a 0 if that had been an option.

This review is from: Pain Free With Far Infrared Mineral Therapy: The Miracle Lamp (Paperback)
I am sorry I purchased this book, from the reviews I thought I was purchasing an informative book on IR therapy. Instead it is a personal account of IR therapy from someone who is not a qualified natural healer, only a perosn who has had IR therapy used on them and liked it enough to purchase a IR lamp and use it themselves. The book is written in the perspective of and to the level of a non-health care proffesional. If you are an individual seeking generalized simple information on what IR therapy is and what it can be used for, you MIGHT find this an interesting book.

THIS BOOK IS OF NO VALUE TO A HEALTH CARE PROFFESIONAL WHO IS SEEKING INFORMATION ON THE USE OF AN IR LAMP IN THEIR PRACTICE!

5.0 out of 5 stars Actually, a very informative book, December 16, 2010
This review is from: Pain Free With Far Infrared Mineral Therapy: The Miracle Lamp (Paperback)
I personally learned a lot from reading this book. I found this woman's story very interesting and informative. She may not be a professional therapist, but she has an enquiring mind and writes about the subject in a responsible way. I found it very valuable to read about her experiences on the road to greater health. I did not find the mention of other related alternative health therapies to be irrelevant. Rather, I found that this gave a good overall picture of how different treatments can work together to enhance each other. Perhaps someone will write a book with more highly technical information, and this would be welcomed. In the meantime, however, I would not discourage people from reading this book, as it provides a valuable personal perspective. It can then be supplemented with additional research on the web to give more information on some of the technical issues. I personally am most grateful to the author for writing this book and to the publishers for making it available. I did go on to buy a lamp, and I wear some pieces of Far Infrared Clothing as well. I also use the foot patches, which emit far infrared radiation, and are available from Amazon: FREE SHIP USA 60 Kenrico SUPREME Gold Trmx-3 WITH CARBON TITANIUM ADHESIVES Upgraded with 70% Tourmaline Organic and ALL Natural Detox Foot and Body Pads/patches Made in JapanI find that these products, which I use in conjunction with other alternative therapies, have greatly enhanced my health.

I agree, this writer is like a blogger who thinks their life's details are so interesting to everyone but the truth is I just wanted a concise guide on how to use the lamp and what it is good for and any contraindications. testimonials are good too but not a whole book that goes so off-track so often I'm too frustrated to finish reading it!!
