Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I had a book by Egoscue in the early 80's and it is no longer in print. This is one of his latest books and it looked pretty similar to the old one. The title gives a hint as to what Egoscue is now including in his methods. The key words being "Harmony and Happiness."
This book will give you some great stretches to alleviate back pain, but it is too much "new-age medicine." A lot of reading about your chakras and mentions of Depak Chopra and such. I really didn't need to read that part and frankly, I found it confusing. The only thing I wanted to deal with was my pain and how to make things better. This book gave a little of that and a lot of the metaphysical new-age mumbo jumbo. If you are looking for pain relief and the time tried Egoscue method, pass on this one and look for his older book.

I have been a fan of Pete Egoscue's for over 6 years. His e-cises are excellent and will keep one "Pain Free". Pain Free Living has additional menu's plus a DVD..all are excellent. I would highly recommend this book, but would suggest that they read both "Health through Motion" and "Pain Free" first.

Chiropractor didn't work-would rather not have an MRI, following the methods within this book and CD did relieve pain in my back, hip and leg. Now it only takes about 15min each morning and sometimes 15min in the evening to be fully pain free again. Exercises that make sense finally.

After many years of back and neck pain from many car accidents, and construction work, I have found real relief in doing the exercises in this book. I've been doing them for 2 months, now. I intend to keep them in my daily routine for the rest of my life. Buy the book, read the book, do the book. After a few sessions and you are enjoying the benefits, don't thank me, thank the author.

AS soon as I read the book and did some of the exercises, my pain went away. Keep you posture correct and you will be amazed. stay away from surgery!
