I REALLY LIKE TO REVIEW NOT-SO-WELL-KNOWN BLUES ARTISTS THAT, IN MY OPINION, ARE RIGHT UP THERE WITH THE "BLUES BIGEES", AND DON MCMINN IS ONE OF THEM. HIS BLUES GUITAR PLAYING HAS THE SAME WORTH AS ANY WELL-KNOWN BLUES ARTIST. HIS VOICE IS GRIT AND GRAVEL PERSONIFIED. THE SLIDE NUMBERS ON THIS CD ARE ALSO NOTEWORTHY. HE DOES A GREAT SLIDE RENDITION OF "HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN". MY FAVORITE NUMBER IS MCMINN'S "PAINKILLER BLUES". ALTHOUGH SOME OF THE SONGS ON THIS CD ARE NOT REALLY, IN MY OPINION, "BLUES", I STILL DIG DON MCMINN. IF YOU'RE A BLUESMAN LIKE ME, BUY THIS CD....YOU'LL LIKE IT. JERSEY SLIM
