The first time I heard Painkiller I was 15 and my mind was blown. I never knew they could be so heavy, so ripping, it made Screaming for Vengeance look like a Poison album. If you like judas priest when they're really going balls out thrashing shred-happy mad then this is the album for you. The only thing wrong with it is there was never a proper follow-up as Rob left the band soon after.

This is one of the essential Priest albums to own IMO, along with Hell Bent for Leather, Screaming for Vengeance, and British Steel.

This tune is the tune that put me on the path to becoming a Priest fan. Great drumming opening for Travis, kick butt solos from the Tipton-Downing duo, and top-notch wailing from Rob Halford.
