End of a short era,
By
This review is from: Paint the Town (Audio CD)
The third and last original album featuring the original line-up of this rocking country group maintained the standard set by the first two, although only three singles were released - four were released from each of the others. Like the first two albums, this is a generally up-tempo album but there are also some great ballads. The first single, Who's lonely now, topped the country chart while two other singles (Walking talking crying barely beating broken heart, This side of goodbye) both made the country top ten. One more single featuring this line-up, Someone else's trouble now, can be found on Greatest hits. Several other songs could have been country hits, including If love had a heart, I can't love you baby and I'll paint the town. There are also excellent covers of Midnight angel, one of Barbara Mandrell's country hits from the mid-seventies, and Sweet baby James, written by James Taylor. Two other wonderful songs (While you slept last night, Rough and tumble heart) were co-written by Pam Tillis, who made it as a singer a year or two later. If you enjoy upbeat country music in general or any of Highway 101's other music in particular, you'll love this album. Tracks I can't love you baby

Every song on this album is outstanding. The title track will bring the hair up on the back of your neck. If "Paint the Town" doesn't get you moving, you're in a coma. For maximum enjoyment, play LOUD!!
