Another great book with step-by-step instructions. Be prepared to learn to airbrush though, because that's how he paints these fish!

I've owned this book for a few years - its a fun and easy read and a decent enough primer on fish carving, but it is badly outdated on both the methods and the artists protrayed in the book (I believe only one of them is still currently selling carvings). The methods are neat, but fall far short of the standards set for detailing a trout in todays fish carving competitions. If you just want to learn some basics or are a beginner, then this is a great starter. If you want to learn more detail on carving and painting, you'll have to look into groups like the National Fish Carvers Guild (thenfcg.com) or check out the DVD's on carving fish from Ed Walicki on [...].
