From Library Journal
Kramrisch, long known for her scholarship on Indian art, provides a catalog of the Festival of India exhibition in Philadelphia. The two public repositories represented are the Philadelphia Museum of Art (36 items) and the Free Library (15 items). Completing the volume are 87 works from private collections. Given the cost of this title, it is a pity that only 52 of the 138 illustrations are in color. However, this volume, along with the others that have appeared as part of the Festival of India, will allow a significant expansion of research on Indian art. Essential for libraries interested in Asian art. Donald Clay Johnson, Coll. of William & Mary Lib., Williamsburg, Va.
