About the Author
Virginia Patterson is a fine arts trained painter. For more than ten years, she has been commissioned to paint everything from traditional canvases to decorative indoor and outdoor murals to unusual objects such as mailboxes, flower boxes, glass pieces, and more. Patterson regularly restores furniture for interior designers, including staining and upholstery, and has also painted furniture pieces with her own original designs.

Good for dabblers and inspiration,

The projects are simple and instructions are too. They're nicely laid out on the pages. But as someone who does decorative painting for a living, I wished there was more content to it; that the white space was used for more information, more detail, more projects, more. What is there is lovely. I chose it because the projects had a similar aesthetic--fresh, modern, playful--to mine and I'm always on the lookout for new inspiration.

I love this book. Not only does it give you decorating ideas, but the pieces shown are stylish, sophisticated, and the directions on how to paint each piece are step-by-step. Very easy to understand. I highly recommend this book.
