5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent learning tool for Gross Anatomy!
I took a Gross Anatomy course, and "Big Tim" helped me a great deal in the memorization of over 50 muscle origins and insertions. He's not so big that he takes up a lot of space, and he's not too small either, so that I can read the numbers indicating muscles and bones. I encourage every Anatomy scholar to own a Big Tim Skeleton.

3.0 out of 5 stars Size
Prior to me writing this, the size of this skeleton didn't seem to be given anywhere on this page.
I just looked up the details on the manufacturer's webpage. This model is 25.5 in = 0.6477 metres tall.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Bones About It, March 11, 2007

I have to say that this skeleton was exactly what I was looking for. Small enough to put on a desk but detailed enough to be able to study from. I'm a second year medical student and didn't notice any anatomical defects. I gave this as a gift to my girlfriend who is also studying anatomy for nursing. And she loves it!
I also liked the painted muscle insertions and origins.
Very well done.

Big Tim was a big hit. I originally bought this guy as a reference tool to memorize all the bones for my A&P Lab class. Worked pretty well, got a 90 on that test. But it also sparked an interest in my 6 year old son. He helps to identify bones (probably the only 6 year old who can tell you where his patella is). Although some parts are tiny, it is very detailed (you can identify tuberosities, foramens and such). You can even open the skull and identify the bones within the skull (be careful though - you pull too hard or twist the skull cap too much and it could break). Even now, when I have moved on to the brain, Big Tim is still being used by my family for play and reference. Definitely worth the $30, sturdy, detailed, and great for learning of any age (almost)!

2.0 out of 5 stars Medical School Anatomy, September 9, 2009
This review is from: Painted and Numbered Big Tim Skeleton Model CMS65
I bought this product because I wanted to be able to see bones and muscle attachments in 3D as a study aid for my medical school gross anatomy course. Although this product will be helpful for muscle attachment, it is too small to study the bones properly. The hands and feet do not have individual bones and the rest of the skeleton is fairly small in size. In addition the skull is small and not very detailed. I would recommend something larger and more detailed for a medical school course.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely gooood buy!!!, July 25, 2008

This product is very helpful if you need to study bones, not so much with the muscles though. What is helpful is that the arms come off as well as the head so you can see the internal cranial bones as well as the first and second cervical vertebrae VERY clearly. AWESOME model to get while taking anatomy and physiology. :)

I guess the way people rate this skeleton is based on what they are using it for. I bought this skeleton to use for my bone test in anatomy for which it was pretty much useless. For anatomy we have to memorize a lot of the detail on the bones which this really doesnt have any. I thought the bones came all loose and I had to put them together which they don't. I would say this is helpful for a child or someone who just wants to learn the very general bones of anatomy. But for someone taking a college level course its basically a waste of money.

Gave to 11 yr old granddaughter; she had no problem putting it together & it provided her with a graphic review of skeletal bones which she had studied at school earlier in the year. It seems sturdy & doesn't fall apart. She keeps it on her desk -- 36".

This has really helped me in college A & P II. Wonderful!! Has a nice manual that matches up the numbers on the skeleton to the name. Very nice make! Much smaller than I thought it would be, but happier than ever :)

As a student this is exactly what I needed, not to big, not too small, detailed enough for my study needs. A great deal for the price. Yes, I have already found an error in one of the muscle markings, however, I am very impressed with the details of the bony landmarks, even my instructors were impressed.
