What a relief!,

This review is from: Painted Pots (Paperback)
My girlfriend bought this book as gift to us both. We were looking for a past-time we could both share that would help us escape the stress of modern life. She had previous experience of pottery thanks to 2 years spent paying her debt to society but I was a complete novice. This book helped make picking up the skill both easy and enjoyable. The book provides ideas and guides for creating great looking pots. The descriptions of various techniques were easy to follow and made this a book to definitely recommend. The only downside to our use of the book came from an unfortunate slip into one of my more melancholy moods. My fruit bowl depicting the nine circles of Hell whilst artistically intriguing was hardly the gift I should have chosen to give to my mother for Christmas.

Okay book, but could use a few more ideas,

I'm a beginner, and it's good on materials and some techniques; but it lacks ideas. Visually, the book is gorgeous, but maybe they could have used smaller photographs, but more of them.
