This book is one that as you look through the pages, you realize that this art work is so fantastic that it almost makes you think it is real. I myself love the book, as my mind wanders in the possibility that these space craft may really exist somewhere. I definetly recomend this book to the Sci-Fi fan alike.

Painted space is nicely put together, with large colour reproductions of many Berkey paintings. The text included is interesting, and gives a nice overview of his career. The more recent book "the art of John Berkey" by Jane Frank includes a different set of paintings and a detailed checklist of his works, so it is worth getting both books.

Too bad so many of the newer flicks are relying on photos or computer generated images to create movie posters...just flipping through this book not only brings back pleasant memories of the films but also gives you the pleasure of seeing a true artist with an eye for the dramatic.
