5.0 out of 5 stars Project for my college art class
This book has excellent information about the "Ashcan" artists in America. It has many illustrations of their artwork and the biographies about the artists are very informative. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn about American art in the beginning of the twentieth century.

3.0 out of 5 stars Painters of the Ashcan School
Was VERY disappointed that the color plates that were in the hardcopy of this book are only in black and white in the paperback version. This makes the use of this book for Art History study irrelevant. How can one understand the Ashcan School's painterly technique without color illustrations!!!
