The Illuminations dvds are the best instructional media available. They thouroughly cover basics and then take you through more complex theories. I would not recommend these for children- maybe a very ambitious high schooler. If you have taken college level courses and review these, you'll find that a lot classic, fundamental concepts may have been skipped and this nicely fills in those holes.
My only complaint is that she doesn't give you ratios in your paint mixing! These DVDs are expensive, but well worth every penny when you think of what a course would cost - and the beauty of being able to review them is priceless. Warning: I find them a bit addictive! |
