3.0 out of 5 stars Okay for a bargain book
Since I got the Kindle version of this book for only $2.39, I'll be generous and give it three stars. If I'd paid any more for it, I would have rated it a one or a two. The story was inventive for a paranormal romance until close to the end. Unfortunately, at that point, it became clear that the author couldn't figure out how to resolve her plot. She ended up resorting to...

I was constantly surprised by the author's ability to weave out of my line of thinking and go in a completely different direction that then made complete sense. The book is well written with wonderfully rich characters and descriptions so vivid they can make you shudder. I look forward to the sequel.

I love surprise endings and couldn't put the book down after the first chapter. How the character got from a room covered in blood to her happy romantic ending should surprise most. The main characters are people that you can care about to stay true to themselves. I am recommending this book to everyone I know! Looking forward to the sequel!

5.0 out of 5 stars Intense and riveting, a stirring romance, March 11, 2009

From the opening scene, this novel is intense; the descriptions of the scenes are so detailed that you feel you are experienceing the happenings within each setting. The characters are truly awesome; you can readily identify with the struggles Tiara faces as she attempts to understand and come to grips with her psychic abilities and the riveting and wholly believable phenomena that she encounters . WOW! is there a Jordan anywhere in this world for me. I can't wait to read Rianna's story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended, May 3, 2009
This review is from: Painting The Roses Red (Paperback)
A paranormal romance. I'd never read a book of this genre before, and it would not be my usual choice; but I found myself enthralled and compelled to read on by this unusual story. Trish Lamoree is a truly talented writer. I was impressed by her ability to write so fluidly and explain quite complex matters in a way that it is easy to understand. Although described as a romance, I felt that in parts the writing strays more into the erotica field in this book. Personally I prefer more to be left to the imagination, but I could not fault the writing or the descriptive abilities of the writer and so am still giving the book 5 stars.

The story is intriguing from the very start, when Tiara (the protagonist), wakes up in a strange hotel room miles from anywhere. She has lost her memory and cannot even recall her own name. She finds that she has strange psychic powers and is haunted by a man in her mind. Is he real or just a memory? Is he her lover or a figment of her imagination? She sees blood, and she fears that she has committed a crime. She then sets out on a journey to piece together her memory and discover who she is and how she ended up in the hotel room. She must also discover the identity of the mystery man who sends her white roses covered in blood... There are many interesting twists and turns along the way. A highly recommended read by a brilliant new author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kept me interested but had me confused, January 31, 2010

I bought this for my Kindle for only $2.39 so I can't complain too much about it. Everyone had given it 5 stars so I really was expecting it to be great. It kept me interested, I will give it that. The first chapter had you quite confused thinking that she had committed a crime but then as the story goes on you realize that there is a lot that we, the reader, don't know.

I guess I haven't read many books that have a plot line to deal with ESP or telekinesis. I was kept wondering what would happen next. The dream sequences made sense but became a bit monotonous. I was glad that they were able to work everything out and that the end justified the beginning. The characters were well written, I thought, and the author has left it open for the sequel. I don't know if I would read the next book only because I think this wasn't a subject that I love. If you are a lover of this subject matter then this would probably be a book series you will really enjoy.

First off, I must say that this is not the type of book that I typically read. However, since it came highly recomended, I thought that I would give it a chance. After all, what did I have to loose? I was pleasantly surprised. It was much better than I had expected. Painting the Roses Red was filled with plot twists that somehow worked to hold my interest. This book was far from boring or predictable. It kept me guessing, because it was full of surprises. The author was very creative and had a wonderful and vivid imagination. I am looking forward to checking out her other works.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, January 25, 2011
This review is from: Painting The Roses Red (Paperback)
This entire series is awesome! I am an avid reader, but a picky one and after fixing an appliance for the author, my husband brought me home signed copies of each of the 4 books that have been released so far in this series. Trish is an amazing write and while reading the books it's like a movie is playing in your head instead of just words on a page. Each of the 4 novels lets you get to know main characters and has interesting plot points and a storyline that doesn't let you put the book down. I can't wait for the next book to come out, i'm literally on pins and needles, it can't come soon enough!!

To give a little more detail the novels are scifi in nature but also throw in some romance. It is about a group of people that have been brought together for their psychic abilities. One of the memebers of this group is from another universe, but not a cheesey, alien other world... I can't go into much more without giving away the story details, but I will say that at any price these books are a must have for anyone that appreciates great writing.
