Waste of money,
By Crotchety crocheter (Philly, PA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Painting and Drawing Children (Paperback)
I got this book primarily to learn the different anatomical proportions of children at different ages, for drawing purposes. The book has about one-half page of weak anatomy narrative along with one very poor ink drawing of a child next to a ruled line. Then it spends a page each on hands, feet, and heads. The rest of the book is a jumbled, rambling description of studio and media methods, about half of which is just plates of the author's own work with short paragraphs discussing each piece. A total waste of money. The reason I bought this book was because it's hard to find in-depth information on age-dependent anatomy in the typical figure-drawing book. I can honestly say that *any* of the figure drawing books I've read has had better information than this one.
