This review is from: Painting children in oil (Hardcover)
My impression of this book is that it's average, but I bought it for reference and haven't thoroughly studied it. There are 24 colour pages and over 100 black and white illustrations - I don't get a lot out of black and white plates with portraiture.

Topics are: 1) Materials and equipment 2)Preliminary sketches 3) Clothing and props 4) Lighting 5) Learning to mix colors 6) Painting procedure 7) Learning about values 8) Color demonstrations 9) Handling the brush.
