Tommy Page...known to many of us in the late-80s and early-90s as "THE SIXTH NEW KID" for his frequent hob-nobbing with New Kids On The Block.

His music is pretty bland r&b and pop. Not offensive by any means, but not very noteworthy, either.

I think that this was one of the most romantic albums I have ever experienced. Tommy Page knows the right words to say and his song can make you visualize occurences in our own lives. "Your the best thing" is a song i will keep with me for the rest of my life..its was an "our" song one of the first songs I slow danced to with my ex and he said the right things and put you into the right mood to be moved so much. Continue it with his song "Paintings in my mind". I am sorry to see that Tommy Page isn't making albums anymore..I feel there is still an audience in the USA and around the world for him..why? because he makes love hit hard...his songs , his sound , touches you and makes u move forward and go backwards in thought for the past, and current relationships you hold. I feel he also gives u thought for the future..Lets hope he surprises us one day. I write lyrics/music myself and I would be proud top feature any of Tommy's songs on a future album of mine...I feel we blend in our music and meaning. Don't miss out on any of his albums...It will be worth every penny! If ever my special love was out there reading this review..remember Tommy's songs hold us still, though we are apart the memories are relived in his music.

4.0 out of 5 stars "Page 2", February 27, 1999
By A Customer

This is the album that turned Tommy Page into the teen idol he was in the late 80's. Following the success of his first major hit "A Shoulder To Cry On", Tommy opted for more of a 'balladeer' role on this, his second release. Although the first single "I'll Be Your Everyting" would become his biggest hit ever, this album was not quite as striking as the first one. Follow up singles "When I Dream Of You" and "Turn On The Radio" failed to achieve the same success as the first.

In my opinion, some of the stronger material on the album were songs that were never singles (at least not here in the US anyway). The duet "Don't Give Up On Love" could have easily been a big hit, (I believe it was, in Japan), so then could have the heart-wrenching "Just Before (I Was Gonna Say I Love You), the upbeat "Don't Walk Away", and the poetic title track. The success of this album catapulted tommy to world-wide fame. Unfortunately here in the states he had one more album, the ill-fated 'From The Heart', then he vanished from the music scene. I have heard that his music is alive and well in Japan, maybe even in other countries, but his US fans will just have to settle for the 3 albums released here.

He was a young guy when he wrote this album. He's an amazing song writer both lyrically and musically. I highly recommend this CD and all his others!

4.0 out of 5 stars Contains the #1 Billboard song "I'll Be Your Everything", January 17, 1999

Tommy Page is a genuine artist. For a shining moment in time, in the Summer of 1990, Tommy's voice carried a number one hit across the radio waves of America. And deservedly so. Forget the fact that New Kids on the Block backed his gentle, comforting vocals (although they did a heck of a job on this one)... forget that half the album leans toward 80's cheese pop. What is evident on this album is a sense of old-fashioned fun, and a youthful energy that rises above most other teen idol fare. The highlights include "I'll Be Your Everything", "Turn on the Radio", "You're the Best Thing" and the title track. An impressive collection of memorable songs.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the most underrated artists, September 30, 2005
This review is from: Paintings in My Mind (Audio CD)
I thought that Tommy Page made a good pop album in Paintings on My Mind. Although he had a strong teen fan base in 1990, this album succeeds on its own merits. He has a good balance of ballads and danceable numbers. Jordan Knight wrote one of the songs here, but the song fits well with Tommy's voice. Page was one of the most underrated singers of the early '90s and this album made him a little more accepted.

I love the way Tommy adds poetry into his song writing. He's very intelligent and has a lot of meaningful words to include in his songs. If you're looking for a great love song that expresses the way you feel in strong words, then this is the CD for you.

I remember hearing "I'll be Your Everything" on the radio and just about going out of my mind! I got the album and fell in love with it. I just recently re-discoverd my old tape and listened to the title song. I remember rewinding the tape and listening to that song over and over again. I still remembered all the words. I am pleased that this album is still being offered. This album is fun and reminds me of a time when life was simpler.

5.0 out of 5 stars Remember the innocent first crushes you had?, October 21, 2000

It's really a pity that Tommy Page was not as a big hit as he should be. As with most fans I started listening to him about 12 years ago, and have bought all his albums, unfortunately, they were basically cassette tapes that have after years and years of abuse produce little more than hiss these days. Been desparately searching for his CD's and buying them :)

Well most CD retailers don't even carry his stuff so if you are able to find anything by him, buy it!

His music is absoultuely beautiful, I remember listening to it when I was having my first crush as a teenager, and it was absoultuely marvellous, just thinking back of those times through his music alone brings a smile back to the face.
