Editorial Reviews

Watch this first lesson in an exciting four part dvd series where covers drawing with the brush, using only a brush and one color John shows how you can sharpen your brush drawing and painting skills by working from a real world object. He does several studies of a horse figurine and finally shows how you can arrive with a handful of stylized orginal studies for your portfolio. A must for anyone who has wanted to jump into painting without spending lots time drawing the image and then simply adding color between the lines. Loosen up with your work and feel the flow of the paint.

The production quality is low but the information is good.
I learned the process of abstracting and stylizing a still life object.
I wish more effort had been made into making a better quality video that would be easier to watch. The lack of production quality was distracting to the valuable information given. However, I liked it enough to order the next two in the series.
