Romantic comedy of the best kind,
By
This review is from: The Pajama Girls of Lambert Square (Hardcover)
"A bird may love a fish, but where will they build a home together?" (Tevye, Fiddler on the Roof)
He's claustrophobic. She's agoraphobic. He's a rover, moving from town to town rescuing small businesses on the brink of disaster. She couldn't be more settled in her apartment in Lambert Square. John Dodge and Julia Darrow both have secrets. They have problems. They have pasts. But can they have a future together? All of Lambert Square is watching and waiting, and from the first page to the last, you will be too. The Pajama Girls of Lambert Square is a romantic comedy of the best kind, with smart, funny characters drawn by an author who knows exactly when to keep us guessing and how to make us laugh. Fans of the Wilderness Series (written by Lippi under her pen name Sara Donati) will recognize the author's trademark wit and her ability to address real-life problems with loving attention to detail. The Pajama Girls of Lambert Square is Lippi's second foray into the romantic comedy genre, following 2006's Tied to the Tracks, and she has only gotten better with practice. Pajama Girls is sexy, funny, and genuine. If you're looking for a page-turner, this is it.

Routine Romance Novel,

This review is from: The Pajama Girls of Lambert Square (Kindle Edition)
I was disappointed that an author like Lippi who is capable of crafting the Wilderness Series (under her pen name Sara Donati) would offer her readers little more than a silly romance novel. The characters where more like caricatures of southern life, each too quirky to be compelling. I'm sure this was much faster and easier to write than the well researched Historical Fiction she has done in the past, but it sure left me wanting strong believable characters like Elizabeth and Nathanial.

Lovely Southern Romance,
By Shannzu (Orange County, CA) - See all my reviews

The Pajama Girls of Lambert Square is a really wonderful book. The idea of a linen shop where the employees go to work in their PJs is really fun. It's also nice to read about two people falling in love who have some baggage and a whole life lived before meeting each other. I loved all the quirky characters and the fictional town of Lamb's Corner. Lippi's writing is so good that it will sneak up and steal your heart you when you're least expecting it. I'm definitely going to hunt down her backlist, including Tied to the Tracks so I can soak up all the southern goodness.

Only A Woman Could Love This Drivel,
By
This review is from: The Pajama Girls of Lambert Square (Hardcover)
I found this at Dollar Tree, which is exactly where it belongs. I am not sexist in any way. I am actually a feminist gay man, but this is a book that only a woman could love and it have to be a woman who doesn't have much experience with good writing.I didn't care about any of the characters (even the dogs) and the book is filled with patently unbelievable plot twists. Here are two egregious examples: Dodge's "secret" would have been given away VERY early on during his phone conversations w/his sister rather than revealed (big surprise) two-thirds through the book; Maude (town mayor and know-it-all) would have known about Julia's "getaway" and so would other people. I could go on but this is wasting my time. Read better books.

Great story! Very interesting. The story is out of the ordinary, it is a surprise for the reader. I enjoyed this book very much, and will continue to do so from time to time. Excellent writer.

I did not want this book to end & furthermore, I want to live in Lambert Square above my own little shop! What a wonderful world Rosina Lippi has created. I'd love for her to write an sequel to see how Julia & John turn out and peek in on the rest of the residents of Lamb's Corner!

Another Rossini Lippi book quite different from the others. It is a light, fun romance. A nice change of pace.

Poorly written, boring and a waste of my time. I have read half of this book so far and it is so painful to read, but I have invested $10 in it so I keep reading this horrible book. It should be illegal to be able to sell such bad books.

I echo all the positive reviews and just want to state that this book was hugely enjoyable. This author has a gift for creating fascinating, quirky, characters whom you have to love in spite of (or maybe because of) their flaws/humanness. What this book has that I don't often find in this genre is love, compassion, and kindness. It goes beyond the usual parameters of romantic fiction and teaches a lesson on how acceptance and just plain listening to each other without judgement can help us heal from even the most difficult of life circumstances.

I couldn't put it down!!,
This review is from: The Pajama Girls of Lambert Square (Hardcover)
In most every book I read someone gets murdered, so I thought I would take a break from the mysteries and try something different with this book. Great move on my part. I loved this book. I loved the characters, the setting, the dogs, everything. I am not from the South, but I do come from a small town where everybody knows everybody else's business. I think that Rosina Lippi did a great job of showing the fear that encompasses Julia while slowly revealing what is the cause. Julia's jumping into bed with Dodge after about 20 pages did seem a little premature, but it made her a more interesting character. She was really two people - the person she was trying to be in front of all the town's people and the person she was with Dodge. Anyway, I just loved this book and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a light, romantic read (with no murder.)
