Beware: judgemental and discriminating lesson # 1 for kids
on September 2, 2015
When the characters appear as a group on some of the pages, they are all there, every single time, having fun together, EXCEPT for one of them: "the ugliest", in Sandra Boynton's words. This character, a wild boar wearing unusual pj's, appears only once; on that page, she is simply there, by herself, not doing anything but being watched, unlike every other character on the rest of the pages, where they all interact in fun ways. Besides being judged "the ugliest" while everyone else is having fun, there are 2 individuals who are staring at her with a fearful, rejecting look. What an absolute disgrace, teaching kids to judge an individual "the ugliest" and then to completely exclude her from the group and the fun. It's out of my house.
