You can do better for the cost,

If you like products without a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles -- as I do -- then it doesn't come any more basic than this in the LED flashlight department. Just a simple cap with a couple of LEDs that snaps onto a 9-volt battery. So why don't I like it? Because for the outrageous price the manufacturer is charging for this you can do much better. I'll give it two stars only because it works.
If you want a compact, lightweight, bare bones LED flashlight that runs off a long-lasting 9-volt battery, simply enter "palights" in the search field here at Amazon and take your pick among the items listed. (Tip: You'll find a greater variety to select from if you first change the search area from "Sports & Outdoors" to "Amazon.com") All are a much better deal for what you get -- and a lot more rugged -- than this. If you're the sort of person who drills holes in your toothbrush handle to save weight when you go camping you might go for an item like this. Everyone else should check out the Palights.

I think Tony works for Palites,

How many times does Tony direct you to buy a Palight? I'm sure it works fine, but I have not used it. I have, however, used the Pak-Lite. I have been very impressed and I think it deserves its due respect. I received it for xmas from the father-in-law and was somewhat skeptical of its power. It beats all of my other flashlights hands down, especially for its size. Its the first flashlight I grab due to its versatility- since the LEDs are exposed it allows me to use it as a lantern by placing it on its bottom or sides.
