This is the RG-6 version which is most common in long runs of cable like from the pole to your house or from a distant antenna to your house. RG-6 and RG-6 dual shield have very good loss characteristics and make long runs without loosing precious signal.

The Paladin system is in use by many cable companies around the USA - I got the advice from an installer on what they used and he pointed me this way. Their tool is pricy, but it is a truly universal tool and will help you install TV antennas, cable extensions, RCA plugs, and even BNC connectors. Paladin Tools 4915 Compression Crimp Bundle for the Smart Home A/V Kit I have a review on the tool as well.

I have not found a cable I can not crimp with the paladin system - even oddball links are easy to do like BNC to RCA with quad-shield RG6 cable! This tool and supplies are truly universal so long as you match the cable type to the connectors you use.

Paladin Tools is now making these with cheap plastic inserts that tend to fall off the connectors during shipping and insertion, making getting some of the connectors in the compression tool difficult. The all-metal version pictured here is no longer being manufactured.

I've been using this same item from my local Fry Electronics, where it's priced at $9.99 for 20, which is even slightly less expensive than here ($29.99 for 50). For convenience, I just bought it here from Amazon; since the picture shows the exact same item I am familiar with. Gave it 2 stars for prompt delivery, should be just 1 star for the product itself. Returned right after received. Here is the explanation in my return comment:
Picture shown are all-metal connectors, the way Paladin 9647 should be. Delivered items have thin plastic bodies, many even fell off the front metal connectors. Seem to be a cheap knock-off to me!
