I was happy to find an inexpensive cable tester that checked Coax in addition to Ethernet. As a nice bonus it came with a pouch, although the cables ends fall out of the pouch rather easily... still better than nothing.
Has tested a dozen cables good and a couple bad, so it seems to well enough.

This is a cheap unit that let's you test all 8 wires on a cat5e connection.
It is very minimalist (it has led lights that light one at a time in a continuous cycle for each wire), but it does the job well. I did not try the coax tester, but it did what I needed it to do for cat5e.
