Just what the (Net) doctor ordered,
This review is from: Paladin Tools 6510 PowerPlay PT-525 Complete 24-Tool Multi-Tool for DataComm, Telecom and Electrical (Tools & Home Improvement)
I'm amazed at how many times I've used this tool and I've only had it a week. Everything works as prescribed and it appears to made of very high quality metal. The only tool element that is disappointing is the UTP stripper. Mine does not look like the one in the flash and it will not strip UTP without mangling the wire.

I purchased the PT-525 because I saw an add for it and it had the tools used by most telcomm techs. The tool is assembled very well and the initial quality seems to be above average. I say almost there because it seems that everyone out there that manufactures these multitools seems to forget one very important thing. (1) the most used tool should be the easiest to get out and use. The knife/blade on almost every brand including this one requires the tool to be opened etc. fold this etc. etc. etc. The knife should be the easiest to get out and use. The Leatherman Wave is close, but lacks the telcomm tools. The leather pouch for the PowerPlay seems very flimzy. I know already that the tool will probably outlast 3-4 pouches. For now I guess I'll still use a separate pocket knife for those quick cut and stow jobs.

Best multi tool I've ever owned,

Hands down this is my favorite multi-tool . I've owned other multi-tools but this one is the most useful tool I've ever carried. I'm a communications technician and this tool has just about every tool we use daily, and then some. I've just about used all of the tools on it so far, here's my thoughts; File/large flathead scredriver- works good for deburring conduit, etc.. screwdriver is sturdy, 66 punch tool- easy to use, cuts the wire well, philips head screwdriver- works great, I've already used it to remove/install a few faceplates, knife- super sharp , spudger/hook - the spudger is easy to use , the hook could be a little closer to the tip,but it still works, 110 punch - once again easy to use , and sharp enough to cut on the first push, UTP stripper- scores the cable jacket well, easier to use on plenum cable , pliers - are awesome , I was really surprised how well the gears worked to increase your clamping force, the wire cutter is sharp . the hole saw- really sharp, cuts great. I can't say enough good things about this tool, the guys who designed it must have had some communication techs tell them what tools they use every day , because that's exactly what you have in the 525. No, you problem won't throw away the rest of your tools, but , when a customer says, " can you look at this... for a second , it's not working" and your tool bag is a ten minute walk away, you'll be thankful you're carrying it. My 525's already been used to fix 2 customer problems , without me ever having to go all the way out to my truck for tools. If you work in telecommunications , buy this tool, you won't regret it.
