Paladin's Quest may not have been as popular as some of it's contemporaries on the SNES, but it is still a great game that is a lot of fun. Durning the game, you only have two characters that stay with you, learn new magic, or can buy and use armor and weapons. All other characters are "hired" mercenaries. Eventually, their powers no longer match up with the monsters you face and you need to hire new ones. You can even use a spell to hire old mercs that you have let go! Magic is a little different, too. Instead of having separate MP, your characters use their HP energize their spells. No more Meteo at 1 HP! Also, you learn spells by combining elements. Their are eight elements that you purchase in towns. The game automatically combines the new element with each previous element that you have to come up with new spells. Each element has a strength rating, so if you use fire spells a lot, your fire element will become more powerful. The ultimate spell combines all 8 elements. You need it to beat the game, of course. Anyway, this game can be a lot of fun. The only real bad part is that the graphics aren't the best, and characters don't show up in the fight screens (kinda like dragon warrior on NES I think). It definitely has some fresh ideas, and is great if you are looking for something new from something old.

A lot of people didnt like this game. I love this game. The story was great. Easy control. Great characters. People thought it was a rip off of FF series. Well its a RPG game. I love everything about this game. This game was easy to play. Easy to level up. The End will blow your mind away. Great game.IF you love RPGS you love this game.

While ENIX is one of the best gaming industries for RPGs (Role Playing Games) such as "Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest", "Illusion Of Gaia", and many others, this is quite possibly their weakest title yet! (Yes, even worse than when BOTH ENIX & SQUARE fused together to make the terrible "Unlimited SaGa" for the PS2!) Bad cheesy graphics that could have easily been put on the good ol' classic NES console (which would be understandable because the SNES's graphics are more advanced compared to it) But no! This game doesn't belong on such an excellent system that derserves more greater games like "Final Fantasy II" (a.k.a. FFIV in Japan), "Chrono Trigger", & "The Secret Of Mana". The characters are also very mediocre and boring and the plot is a bit too farfetched! OVERALL: The WORST RPG ever made next to the failed "Final Fantasy: MYSTIC QUEST". Trust me, compared to this the games on Nintendo are much, MUCH better! Skip this one.
