I was a bit nervous that it wouldn't turn out great because the price is so low. However, it is absolutely amazing. Beautiful color, comes with the straight and curved necks. It plays exceedingly well, better than the alto I've owned for the past 8 years. If you're looking for a soprano to add to your collection, and can't afford one of the big four brands, I would definitely recommend this one.
Right out of the box I could tell that this was 2 and 1/2 steps up from some the students horns being offered elsewhere. The pads fit as good as any $1500 horn I've seen or played. The horn comes with two necks a plastic mouthpiece with a #4 bore. The tone is big enough to be notice in any setting. It might not be 100% true intonation, but it is darn close.
I ordered this soprano saxophone just days ago when Amazon was asking $404.00. I kept it two days and decided it was not worth the price. Now, three days later Amazon has raised the price to $535.00. I believe there are better entry level soprano saxes in or near this price range, and would certainly not want it at $535.00. I think Amazon should sell it at about $349.00 and then it would be a fairly priced entry level soprano for an elementary student or a high school age band student.
With all that said, I always enjoy dealing with Amazon and they were very gracious when I returned both the instrument and the one year insurance policy I had bought for it. My search continues! Thank you Amazon, for allowing me to try the horn, even though it wasn't the right horn for me.
