I started writing a review for this book when it first went free back in April. But I never finished it. I have been prompted to post something. I don't want to spend the time to complete it, so you get it as is. All recipe names are the same as at the source site. Some recipe names have nothing after them: the first one I didn't find anything, and in the later block I didn't look for the source, other than using TinEye to look for the image.

As always, please don't reward plagiarists by buying their books.

Paleo Pumpkin Muffins

Zucchini and Sweet Potato Frittata
From PaleodietLifestyle site.
Is half recipe, except red pepper was increased. For the most part recipes in this book were reduced to make half as much as the source recipe. Photo is same stock photo (vegetable-frittata from istockphoto site) as used at source website. Instructions are identical, including keeping in an ordered list.

Pork Rinds
From PaleodietLifestyle site.
The optionality of the salt was removed. Everything else identical.

Coconut Shrimp
From PaleoPlan site.
Is half recipe. Instructions are identical. Photo taken from PaleoMama Wordpress site.

Almond Flour Pancakes
From PaleoPlan site.
Is half recipe. Instructions are identical.

Chef Salad
From PaleoPlan site.

I've looked over the cookbook and my first thought was "I can do this". The recipes are very simple and straight forward. I also like that most of them are pretty quick too. I don't won't to spend over an hour on weekdays trying to get a meal on the table.
It gives you a list of ingredients for the week and then corresponding recipes to go with the list. Only draw back (at least for me, might be a great point for others) is the recipes are for one, and the grocery lists too. But that's easily adjusted so no big deal.
I'm just beginning my research on the Paleo diet so this book was listed as free at the time I found it. Great price for something I'm not dedicated to yet.

I tried to read through this book, but found it simply too difficult to understand. It reads as if it was poorly translated from another language, with poor syntax and confusing descriptions. I'm sure that the author intended to simplify the Paleo diet for a beginner, but I have no idea how this simplifies it, other than possibly offering recipes at the end of the book. I hope that someone else has an easier read of this book than I did.

If you are interested in paleo and picked up this copy for its attractive price, you got your money's worth.

The pro's: a brief introduction to paleo, mentions exercising, provides a grocery list for the week, recipes are for one person (unless otherwise noted), and has a decent variety of foods (meats and seafood) to get you started.

The cons: The intro to paleo is too basic and generalized. One reviewer mentioned the recipes have been plagiarized. Although I didn't take the time to look, there is a severe inconsistency with the quality of the photos. Some look very appetizing from a food photographer, while others resembles photos taken from a cell phone at the dinner table. In 2 recipes, the ingredients included boneless, skinless chicken breast, yet the accompanying photos were chicken legs! Signs of amateur author/publication.

All in all, you can find more complete paleo info throughout the web, and lots of great recipes from paleo bloggers.

This book helped me get started on the paleo diet. It introduced me to some alternative recipes for thing I like. You'll want to double the recipes if your cooking for two or are fairly hungry.

This cookbook was horrific. I finally got around to reading it and stopped right at the grocery list. The author talks about eating foods that our ancestors ate 12,000 years ago and how people were at their most healthiest and fit state. Then the shopping list goes on to include a skinless boneless chicken breast? I am pretty sure that our most recent ancestors used every part of the carcass in their diets. I also know that cavemen didn't eat no damned canned pumpkin, canned tuna, Italian sausage, and 'coco con leche'...
