More About the Author

Tyler Daniels is a foodie, but not a food snob. Since 2010, Paleo has helped him banish acid-reflux, and generally helped with overall levels of energy and fitness. He's also a fan of crossfit and is considering going for his certification.

When he's not geeking out about Paleo "pseudo-science" he enjoys fishing, hiking and almost anything that will get him away from his computer screen. He currently lives in Vermont with his wife and two kids.

As someone who has struggled with finding the right "diet" that works for me, I like the paleo lifestyle the most. From experience, I find it works well along with my workout routine.

Most paleo recipe books I've read have some rather obscure ingredients, but this book keeps it simple. The beginning of the book explains a little about paleo (and why everyone needs a little treat every now and then) as well as the important paleo ingredients to buy for your pantry (palm shortening was a surprise).

Last night, we tried the chocolate chip cookie recipe and it came out just like Famous Amos Cookies. Light, crunchy and chocolaty -- yum!

I recommend this highly as good resource to have, not just for those doing paleo, but for everyone!

A fantastic collection of awesome dessert recipes that are all suitable for a paleo diet. My personal fav has to be the Meadow Mint Chocolate Chip Truffle. Or maybe the Orange Chocolate Macadamia Truffle. They're all so GOOD! The recipes are all laid out in an easy to follow fashion, and are simple enough for anyone to create successfully. This cookbook is great for those of us trying to stick to a paleo diet but who suffer from a mouthful of sweet tooths (teeth?) that crave something sugary. All of the treats here use healthy, natural fats and sugars (coconut oil, honey, etc) instead of heavily processed stuff like corn syrup or white sugar. I'm really pleased with this collection!

My wife and I have always been very open to new food choices and concepts. These were widened even further for the seven years that we owned our health food store in Belgium. During that time we were relatively strict vegetarians because we ate all of the products that we sold. we both like the occasional bit of red meat however and, when we first heard about the Paleo diet we checked it out and realized how much sense it made. Since then (about 6 years ago) we have been following the diet and very pleased with the health and vitality that it brings.

When I found this Paleo cookbook that focused just on desserts I was thrilled but also a little wary. I absolutely love desserts (I mentioned that I lived in Belgium, yes?) but anything that tastes inauthentic, no matter the diet, turns me off.

I'm glad to say that, in my family's opinion, Paleo Desserts and Baked Goods Recipes is a smash hit. Not only does author Tyler Daniels provide a lot of interesting and important information about the ingredients used in the recipes, the results that we have had have been absolutely delicious. One of my favorites is the Primal Forest Cherry Walnut Brownies. They are a different take on brownies, light and fluffy and with a taste combination from the chocolate, cherry and walnuts that is sublime. We have already made them on a few occasions for family and guests.

Anyway, I just wanted to leave a few words here about how great the book is and how delicious all of the recipes. We've made at least a half dozen so far and have been happy with all of them. If you follow the Paleo diet or you are just looking for a cookbook with some healthy and extremely tasty dessert recipes, this is definitely going to be on your top 10 list. My wife and I (and our kids) highly recommend it.

I enjoy the recipes here. I also like how simple most of them are and I have almost all the ingredients in my house already which makes it easier. Simplicity is something I look for in recipes because I'm a busy mom of two picky toddlers who I have begun on a healthier lifestyle instead of the traditional "kid foods".
