My doctoral dissertation was on obesity in childhood and thus I have an interest in weight management. This book takes a look at the science and gives the reader valuable information on the role of metabolism in establishing and maintaining healthy weight. As the author appropriately points out "there is so much bad weight loss information out there, it can be hard to know what advice is correct and what advice really works."

How many people, despite their honest efforts find that their weight won't budge from a set point? The author lays the groundwork for her approach with a review of the Bermuda Triangle of Fat.

Processed foods, stress, and lack of good sleep (topic of my own book) are your enemies. She educates the reader of the value of good sleep and how to burn fat all night long without exercising.

In the Metabolism Reboot Diet, Johnson takes you by the hand wand provides step-by-step instructions in how to reboot your body's energy level and lose weight for good in a healthy way. Her Metabolism Reboot food rules are a clear example for the reader to easily follow. She teaches you how to switch from being a sugar burner to being a fat burner. Now that's a recipe for success. I highly recommend this book. It could add years to your life.

I'm a "how/why" person, and I always do better when I know how something works, or why something functions the way it does. So I LOVED that aspect of this book! It explained many scientific principles without being overwhelming, and went beyond much of what is explained in typical diet books. I liked how the author compared this diet to other diets, and explained the differences between them. I also appreciated the attention to "personal responsibility", a factor often not discussed in weight loss books. I'm also a big fan of coconut oil, so I'm eager to try the coconut macadamia fudge -YUM!

Everyone wants to lose weight. Tell me something I don't know. This book is so much more important than just a typical diet book. In our modern society we are all stressed beyond belief and certainly recognition. Even if you have a job, a happy family, a svelte figure that's easy to maintain, a beloved who is perfect . . . if your eyes are open and your ears work, there is much that is stressing your system and can shorten your life. The explanation alone about the human hormone cortisol and how it wreaks havoc with our bodies and how to shift this one little element you are probably even unaware of is worth the price of this book.

The author is so complete in answering every question I've had about my metabolism and how it really works. The how and why is always on my mind when reading someone else's ideas about dieting. Ms. Johnson gives a wonderful description about various foods I already eat but others I thought were 'outlawed' according to some food guru. I welcome butter and other wonders of nature back into my diet. Thanks for such a complete book!

This book was extremely informative and has really motivated me to change the way I eat. I love that is is backed by SO many insightful and scientific resources, (including studies and videos), as well as history. It really make you scratch your head and look at the myths we've been fed as a society and the scary coincidence that obesity and disease has exploded with these myths. Even though I've tried many diets before, this one makes a tremendous amount of sense and is more of a lifestyle change. I am willing to commit to that change for the promises of not only a slimmer body, but one that feels energetic, rested, and less stressed. How many diets do you know adress the stress of modern life and how much better we will feel once we tackle the stress? It is scientific, but not full of jargon. This easy-to-read, sensible, ebook is educational, motivational, and defintiely worth the price. I recommend it if you have been yo-yo dieting and desperate for a new answer that may finally work.

I'm trying this as my new year's resolution. It makes sense and I read it in 2 days. I need a little practice with tracking proteins and carbs though and I'm not able to access the website.
