Book Description

Paleo Diet Slow Cooker Recipes

The
Paleolithic diet is often called the caveman diet, or Paleo diet for short.
This modern nutrition plan takes things back to our evolutionary roots - it is
based on the food our bodies were designed to eat. The diet is constructed on
the presumed dietary habits of early humans, living during the Paleolithic era.
No processed junk, and no unhealthy additives!

This diet is said to be one of the healthiest diets in existence, and the only
diet to which humans are genetically adapted. In addition to being incredibly
healthy, the Paleo diet has actually been documented to help control or reduce
the risk of serious conditions, such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

This diet is particularly popular among people suffering from food
sensitivities, because it completely omits processed foods and focuses on
simple cooking methods that preserve the natural integrity of food.

My collection of 52 Slow Cooker Paleo Recipes covers the full spectrum of
dishes, including:

  • Soups and Stews
  • Poultry
  • Beef and Lamb
  • Seafood
  • Vegetarian
  • Snacks and appetizers
  • Desserts

I
hope that you enjoy these dishes as much as my family and I do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great recipes! October 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My sister in law has been telling me to check out the Paleo diet for a while. I have been trying to live a little healthier and more wisely choose the ingredients for my meals so I figured I would try out a recipe book to see if there was anything that I would enjoy.

I am really glad that I found this book. There are many different recipes that I have already tried and they are delicious.

My 2 favorites in the book are the peanut butter chicken soup (which I didn't think was going to be good but was awesome) and the sweet balsamic roast beef.

One of the best parts about the book was that the recipes were so easy to make because a slow cooker is pretty much set it and forget it. I really liked that the author included pictures in the book as well.

I would definitely recommend that anyone who is looking for some variety in their paleo diet purchase this book. Usually, diet food is so bland and boring. The recipes in this book were the total opposite.

2.0 out of 5 stars not very paleo October 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I liked the idea of a slow cooler paleo book but the recipes some include using soy sauce, gluten free cake mix (quick would contain rice or potato flour). I appreciate the effort going into this book but don't call it paleo when it isn't 100%. Its misleading and not helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Cookbook October 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was especially excited about this book, as I have a family member with Celiac Disease who needs to eat gluten free. The Paleo diet is perfect for her. This book has several options that I know she will love the next time I cook for her. Being able to cook these recipes in a slow cooker is an added bonus.

I really appreciate it when cookbooks both contain a good selection of recipes and are well-written and properly formatted for Kindle. This book is all of the above. The recipes selection is excellent and they are all well-written and properly explained, plus they include nice photos of each dish. Nutritional information is also included, which is always appreciated.

I highly recommend this book to anyone considering the Paleo diet and would like to find some interesting and tasty recipes.

2.0 out of 5 stars Quite disappointed February 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really wasn't impressed with the recipes. Many call for items that are legumes which are NOT Paleo. It's ok for people following clean eating, but not for strict Paleo.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just didn't taste very good February 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I got my first slow cooker just after Christmas, and started looking for recipes. This book looked so good - great pictures, easy-to-follow instructions, simple ingredients. I've made five different dishes. None of them tasted that great. They were all just ok, but nothing I will ever make again. After this fifth one bombed, I've decided not to waste my time or grocery money making any other recipes in the book.

I am not a gourmet cook by any means, but I like simple food that has great flavor. A couple of my recent favorite cookbooks are Paleo Family Favorites, and Primal Blueprints Quick and Easy Recipes.

The search for good slow cooker recipes continues....

2.0 out of 5 stars Paleo Cooking for Dummies December 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I had hoped to get some ideas for slow cookery that I hadn't thought of. I was disappointed. Many, Many of the recipes seemed to be carbon copies of each other - just substituting one basic ingredient for another. In my case it was a waste of time.

We have tried four recipes from this "book" and they have ALL been absolutely horrible. I'm glad we didn't pay for it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Flawed from the start March 23, 2013
Format:Paperback
The first recipe cashew chicken soup isn't even paleo. It calls for peanut butter. Peanuts aren't paleo, didn't even bother with going through the rest of the recipes. At least make sure the first recipe of a "paleo" cookbook is Paleo. I'm sorry if this is rude but it's lazy and what is wrong with our society today. Just cuz something says something doesn't make it true, eg cage free chicken, organic, all natural. Readers don't get lazy
