Book Description

How valuable is YOUR time to you?

Slow is the new fast ...

Just imagine yourself coming home after a long day at work, to find a healthy home-cooked meal just waiting for you and your family. No standing on your feet trying to put a meal together while ALL you really want to do is sit down and forget about the day's troubles.

With slow cooking you can have this at fraction of the time you normally spend on cooking, and it's like having your own cook on duty!

This is especially true for sticking to the Paleo diet, where the thought of starting a meal from scratch after a difficult day may tempt you to just grab a fast food meal.

Although the cooking is slow, the food is 'fast', being ready for you with minimal preparation on your part.

Chances are you're spending way too much time in front of a hot stove anyway. Why not give yourself a well-deserved break by learning the secrets of the crock pot?

In this value-packed little gem you will:
  • Find out how the crock pot reduces your stress levels
  • Uncover The secrets to make crock pot meals very tasty
  • Discover Tips on how to go gluten-free (you really cannot be without these)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good recipes July 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book contains good recipes. I gave it 4 stars due to the use of quinoa and amaranth, seeds that are not typically used in Paleo cooking. Also had a few recipes calling for brown sugar which is absolutely not used. All in all a good book containing good recipes.

Recommend for those who are looking for good slow cooker recipes,

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! June 30, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love that this book has nutritional information, since most Paleo cookbooks do not. As someone who is not only trying to eat healthy, but also limit carbs and lose weight, this is key.

Some of the dessert recipes seem a bit too involved and can be accomplished easier and quicker using conventional methods, but other than that, well done!

5.0 out of 5 stars It helped me to recover June 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I never thought that one day I'd become one of those people who take it slow. I remember my younger self looking at them walking slowly in the park, sitting in a cafeteria and enjoying a coffee or a donut or whatever, and thinking that they were wasting their lives; that instead of doing something useful they just let time pass them by. And then I got older. And then I started getting this illness or another. And then I came to realize that perhaps I was the one who was the fool and not them.

That's quite an opening for a book review, isn't it? The truth is that I mean every word of it. That's who I was; someone always running around, trying hard to get things done, struggling to reach somewhere; where I do not yet know. Do I regret it? Yes, I do. I wish I was wiser. I wish I was one of those people that I've mentioned above; that took a break from reality to enjoy life. I wish I was a time waster!

What does that have to do with cooking? Everything. And that's because I used to eat just the way I lived. I'd eat take away meals, stand in a queue and buy cholesterol-full burgers, heat frozen pre-prepared meals that contained no nutrients whatsoever, and consume energy bars most often than not. But now all that has changed. I'm a different person. It took me some fifty years and a near death experience to make me decide that I should lead a different life.

This book talks in a way about everything I am today; someone who takes it slow and tries to enjoy the simple things as much as she possibly can. Slow cooking, I think, is nothing new, but it's new to me. And in a way it helped the transition to my new way of life. For starters it can be used for cooking Paleo diet meals, which are exactly what my doctor suggested.

3.0 out of 5 stars Brown Sugar? September 3, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Sugar? Quinoa? Many of the recipes contain brown sugar, which is NOT Paleo. Bad grammar and poor writing with mistakes that should have been edited..but some good recipes that save it and make it worth the 10 bucks.
