Slow Cookers are the way to go if you are a working person or a busy at home mom. Once all is preped, yo can accomplish so much more whil the meal is cooking without your assistance.

2.0 out of 5 stars A cookbook typo extravaganza! June 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have read through the first several pages and have already found 6 typos. Some recipes mention ingredients in the prep instructions which are not in the list of ingredients, or ingredients are listed which are never addressed in the prep instructions and often times the author neglects to mention if you are supposed to set your crockpot to high or low to get the desired outcome! The whole point of a recipe book is a FINISHED recipe... instructions that don't require guess work and experimentation to get an edible meal! What a mess. I'm glad it's free today... I would have been furious if I had paid for this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Paleo compliant ingredients, confusing recipes September 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I suspect these recipes were written in another language and translated to English, since the recipe format is not what we in the US are accustomed to. I have to wonder if the author of the cook book actually made a single one of these recipes. Every recipe seems to be labeled for four to five people, yet will only contain eight to twelve ounces of meat. One recipe for a whole chicken called for a one pound chicken, which I know I have never seen. Perhaps the author was referring to a Rock Cornish Game hen, but how would such a tiny bird provide the indicated four to five servings?

Some ingredients do not seem to be any I have ever seen in any other recipes, specifically garlic paste and ginger garlic paste. All recipes seem to be meant for a five quart slow cooker, but the ingredients listed would probably work better in a three quart cooker, since the quantities given are small.

I found the recipes not to be useful, but I do find the ingredients list to be fodder for my own recipe creations. I can devise my own recipes from other sources and will use the combinations of ingredients and seasonings to springboard my own efforts.

If you are a beginning cook, I don't recommend this book, but if you are someone like me who can take inspiration from reading recipes in order to create your own, then you may get some use from this book.

I've been trying to eat Paleo for several months but it's very difficult to find inspiring recipes and good taste combined. This recipes in this book are OK, but I haven't tried enough of them to really make a good review.
