I picked this up for my daughter but read through it first. Compared to The Primal Blueprint this is disappointing in the amount of actual information given. There is, however a lot of self-congratulations and numerous client 'stories' to pad the book. It says it's for women but that's misleading, too. It's aimed at the youngish, very active athletic type A and gives a whole lot of reasons this will improve your 'sport', whatever it is. Save your money and time and get The Primal Blueprint: Reprogram your genes for effortless weight loss, vibrant health, and boundless energy (Primal Blueprint Series).

I was really excited to get my copy of Paleoista. I pre-ordered it and came home at lunch to pick up the package. And it was a major let down. I guess I was expecting some "French Women Don't Fat"/paleo diet hybrid that made me feel dainty for eating this way. I don't know what I wanted. But this wasn't it. The book is small, and doesn't have much information. It's also a little condescending-- I forget exact quotes, but tidbits like 'eating behind the wheel is so not ladylike'. There's only a week's worth of meal plans and some recipes, none of which I have been interested enough to try. I can officially say I've read every published paleo/primal book and cookbook, and this is my least favorite. I still hold The Paleo Solution: The Original Human Diet as the golden standard, but I am also very excited to read the Hartwig's It Starts with Food: Discover the Whole30 and Change Your Life in Unexpected Ways.

If you're new to Paleo, get another book. If you're familiar with the lifestyle, you won't find anything new here.

Being "new" to the paleo lifestyle, I dont feel that this is the best first read that I could have had. From the title it seemed that this book would be about trendy young women seeking to live a paleo lifestyle on the go.
This book was not that, this book seems to be geared for athletes, there were a few pages in the book that talked about what to do if you are not an athlete THATS IT. There is nothing wrong with being an athlete, its just that to me the title should have been changed to something that would draw athletes in.
I love the title(although it doesnt fit the content totally) and I have learned a few useful tidbits from the content. This book I dont think was meant for me. Meaning I did not conect to the text, I was looking for something more. Maybe if I was an intense athlete I would have loved this text more.

It took too long to get here. He read some of it and doesn't agree with some of what it says. No yogurt, no dairy. For him that isn't going to work.
