If you collect fossils or just want to learn more about them this is a great choice. I was impressed by the 650 color photos and the interesting text. I have met Bruce Stinchcomb and always value his opinions and insight on all fossil topics. This book is of interest to collectors, students and advanced collectors too. His other volume: Worlds Oldest Fossils, is also the best.
Dr. Stinchcomb includes common fossils as well as the scientifically unusual, problematic ones, a great way to learn.

This book is amazing...brilliant, large color photos of fossils and extremely readable!(even includes a price guide) Great book of interest for the classroom, elementary, and secondary as well. Perfect for amateur and seasoned fossil collectors, highly recommended... ~Charles K.~
