At first I was a bit concerned about just how hard the bristles were on this brush, as they are VERY firm. However, after using it for a couple of days now, I can say that this was very necessary, as the coffee compacts so well inside the grinder that it was extremely important that the bristles be very firm. It is also nice that it has a bit of a scoop on the other end as well. I would only add that in addition to getting this item, I would also get a softer bristle tool in addition, in order to completely clean the fine grinds that are left over after using this tool, as the firmness of the bristles won't permit you to clean the finest grounds out completely.

No more burned fingers cleaning your espresso machine. It really does work like they say it does. You measure the amount of cleaner you need so no more wasted cleaner and when the hot water comes down the brush head it does not get to your fingers. The heads last a very long time. I can easily get up to 6 months out of one head. This is the only tool I use for this job. I threw all the others away.

I bought my first pallo tool at an industry show five years ago. I have bought several since to pass along to customers. The design is thoughtful and the execution perfect. The angle of the brush is very ergonomic and the angle and handle length will keep hands safely away from hot water when cleaning the group head and gaskets. Pallo , by making the brush itself a separate component, has ensured that you can use this tool for years (as I have). The scoop at the opposite end is a nice touch, with the great benefit of aiding baristas in dosing the exact amount of cafiza for back flush. For such a humble tool it does the job very well.

I must be the only person who does not like this tool. The idea is great, but in execution, it fails hard for me. First, the bristles are too stiff. I think you could strip paint with these. Second, the bristles aren't long enough. They reach the shower screen fine but don't reach the gasket in the brew head. Third, because the bristles aren't long enough, I have to angle them to reach further up, and in doing so, the bend on the handle hits the bottom of the brew head at the front while working on the back. Will be taking this out to the garage for some potential future use!

I like the scoop (perfect amount for Cafiza) and the deflectors so you don't get burned while cleaning a shower screen. I'm not sure the steam-wand cleaner tip is going to survive in a drawer, and the brush is not really a "brush". But it does help clean things.

I bought this to replace the original coffee tool I bought with my espresso machine 5 years ago. I use it everday to clean the portafilter gasket and the brushes last a good ling time before I have to replace them too.

This tool was recommended by my espresso machine company's repair techs. It works well and I am happy with it.

I used to clean the brew group of my Gaggia espresso machine with a wet paper towel and, sometimes, a quarter-inch dowel with a piece of paper towel folded over the end to wipe out the gasket area. This brush is sized and angled to take care of cleaning those areas comfortably in a few seconds. A quick wipe with a damp towel will remove any remaining coffee residue. Why didn't I buy one in the first place?

You can get replacement cleaning tips for this brush, and I recommend you do so if you decide to buy the brush. I am still using the original insert that came on my brush a couple of months ago, but the bristles are starting to spread out and lose their stiffness. Replacement brushes (which screw into the body of the brush, so don't try to pull or hammer the old one out directly) come in packs of three. I estimate that with regular cleaning you might go through one pack of replacement inserts in the course of a year. That will depend on actual frequency of use, of course. I pull between 10 and 20 cups a day out of my machine, and I usually clean it thoroughly before a cold start in the morning.

You don't need a special brush for every purpose, of course, but this is such a good and convenient one for taking care of the screens and crevices on espresso makers that I recommend it.
