4.0 out of 5 stars Saves Weight and Space
More important than the size saving is the weight saving - The regular charger is heavy.

You can save more of both by taking only the hot-sync cable with you - unless you are travelling for weeks.

This travel kit takes too much space. If you would like to connect your Palm V or Vx to two computers, I suggest you either buy another cradle, or pack your cradle. 4.0 out of 5 stars Expensive but worth it, May 12, 2000
By A Customer

The travel kit is ssssooooo much lighter than the recharge cradle. I keep the cradle at home with my PC and carry the travel kit. I wish they would sell just the recharge plug and the hotsync cable.

4.0 out of 5 stars For the traveller, May 5, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: PalmOne V Travel Kit (Office Product)
A necessity for the traveller, it is just a shame that they are not sold separately. Some have said they would just like the hotsync cradle to connect with their laptops. Personally I only need the recharger as I can Hotsync using the infrared capabilities of the Palm (available on the Palm OS 3.3 upgrade) and I plan to do away with the laptop almost completely when the keyboard and modem arrive. But if you are a frequent traveller who spends time away from the office this saves alot of valuable space and weight in your carry-on luggage. It's a must!

4.0 out of 5 stars Highly Portable, August 22, 2000

the sync cable is very low profile. the charger is separate so you can bring just the sync cable for short trips or the charger for longer trips (the tranformer adjusts to different voltage and comes with adapters plugs for use in other countries).

i find this kit very useful... more so than my cradle since this is more flexible in usage; i wish they would also sell the sync cable by itself. my biggest complaint (and yes, i agree it is more expensive than it should be) is that the sync cable connector (the piece that is inserted into the Palm) is exposed and does not come with a sleeve/protector.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Space Saver, April 13, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: PalmOne V Travel Kit (Office Product)
The travel kit is a great product. Both pieces fit perfectly in the flat pocket of my laptop bag (I leave the travel pouch at home). I leave the charger and the hot sync cable in my bag and I never have to worry about leaving it at home when I'm on the road.

5.0 out of 5 stars 3Com Palm V Travel Kit, January 31, 2000
This review is from: PalmOne V Travel Kit (Office Product)
This kit is worth the money. It is compact and stores easily in the bag included with the kit. In turn, the bag stores easily in a laptop briefcase. The instruction booklet leaves a little to be desired. But the product itself is much smaller than the cradle, and much easier to store. It is easy to use. The charger comes in handy, and the multiple adapters need be carried only for the countries in which one travels. Definitely worth the investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars A savior, October 19, 2000

I recently went to Australia and completely forgot that I would have to charge my Palm. The voltage there is 220 and the plugs are definitely different. Sure enough, one of those little pieces that I kept in the bottom of the handy drawstring bag fit perfectly. Just when I was about to panic, I had all I needed. The power supply doesn't require that you get a *transformer* as well as a converter. So that's a big plus.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great product, but too expensive, February 8, 2000

I made a lot of short trips and all I need is the HotSync cable (I am back before running out of battery). The recharger unit is just doubling the cost for me. If I need both, then I would rather have the cradle with charger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Accessory, November 23, 2000
This review is from: PalmOne V Travel Kit (Office Product)
I was surprised to see some of the reviews that complained about size and cost. This unit is extremely compact and, I think, reasonably priced. It's exactly what I need when I take my Palm overseas. I highly recommend it.
