4.0 out of 5 stars At the time, good for legacy Palm user, May 5, 2010

Had several Palm OS devices since 2001. Using this unlocked on ATT with no data plan. Bluetooth works. This phone has been a good way to keep my apps and data usable before changing to a more modern platform. Sync software installed on XP without too many hoops to jump through(users need special updates for Outlook 2007). Palm OS Garnet looks dated but it is very effective, and the phone apps are pretty usable by fingers alone. The build quality is OK, but the surface resilience is poor and the feel is plastic-y. The phone bulky so adding covers makes it hard to keep in a pants pocket. Battery life is notoriously short compared to other cell phones, but seems to be on the low end of normal for smartphones. Software design of screen-lock is poor with many unintentional button presses. Mute slider switch is great - no question whether the phone is muted or not.

Having already gathered some nice utilities for Palm, this smart phone served me well until....2 years into using it, I have cracked the digitizer screen. This accident showed me that many legacy apps were not aware of the directional button. However the underlying screen works and I have continued to use the phone.

1.0 out of 5 stars freezes on tmobile network - Palm are no help - waste of money, June 27, 2009

before you get this be aware there are freezing issues with this phone on various GSM networks - Palm denies this but there are multiple forums comments on the issue - google "palm centro freeze" or something similar.
Seems to work on ATT but Tmobile network caused it to freeze - sent it in for repair - Palm sent me another unit - same problem. Phone is basically unusable, Palm otherwise was very un helpful - for $299 I spent on the unlocked phone at that time was a complete waste - I for one will never by Palm again.
