I had my reservations about buying a no-name flashlight from a non-Amazon seller that I'd never heard of. I was all set on buying a streamlight or fenix light until I stumbled upon this one. The price was right, so I took a risk and bought this flashlight. It came QUICK, packaged perfectly, and nicely presented... I opened the box, installed 3 C cell batteries, turned it on and... WOW! Bright, WHITE light. Extremely bight, in fact, and would make an excellent personal defense flashlight. This thing would sufficiently blind anyone if shone in their eyes. The flashing mode looks like it would be extremely useful in an emergency situation.

The build quality is excellent as well- solid aluminum, high-quality feel overall. Perfect size and weight. If you are looking for a flashlight that is extremely bright and visible from miles away, this will not disappoint. I've gotten tons of comments on this light, everyone has noted its high quality and brightness... Don't even think twice- just get it!

Just got my two of these Palm Blaze 3C models. Super high quality! Close tolerances. Batteries not loose. A very tight, solid light. Very bright with good throw. Compact, yet high capacity, inexpensive, widely availabe C-cells. Much more compact, and manageable than a 2D Maglite. Barely larger than most 2AA lights. Not too small not too big with easy battery changes without all the tinny batteries, polarity arrangements and carrier non-sense!

A fine light for seniors as well as anyone else. Simple, solid, and powerful with long run time. An all around perfect light! Can't go wrong wit this outstanding value! If you only need one or two flashlights in your life, these are everything you'll ever need for any purpose.

A great flashlight, the two settings are 'bright as hell' and 'even brighter.' The 5-10 dollar flashlights sold here are no comparison! I use the low setting for inspecting inside crawlspaces and attics. The high setting at night will light up a neighbor's tree over half a block away. The high setting could be dangerous at night, causing temporary blindness. Don't point this at oncoming traffic! No really, I mean it!

Just received the light so I haven't had enough time to test battery life. However, the construction of the light is well built, similar to a mag lights construction with a good switch to cycle through the three modes of operation (100%, 25%, and quick flashing). I have been comparing this light to the "Nitestar Brightest 5W Luxeon LED flashlight with 2 Lithium batteries - silver" also ordered through Exciting products, and have been pleased. This light (Palm Blaze) has a very bright, focused "square" beam which should throw long distances, however the color of light is not as white as the Nitestar 5W (not sure if it's just my unit). Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase - I still love the Nitestar 5W due to it's smaller size and whiter light, but the Palm Blaze is a more economical choice (runs on 3-C's instead of expensive lithium) for everyday need of a bright, well-built flashlight. I used to use a Mag 2-D Led light around the house, but will be replacing it with this brighter alternative.

I carried a Streamlight Stinger for 5 years. It was wearing out and I was looking at trying a LED. I liked this one because you don't have to keep clicking it to get high power. First push is full power. If you want lower, you give another push right away. It fit's the holster for my Stinger, only weighs 3 ounces more, and puts out a lot more nice, white, bright light. With a set of rechargeable batteries it's still half the cost of a Stinger and a very well made light. I like it a lot!

This product is very solid, durable, bright enough to temporarily blind on high(very defensive), also a useful low setting and nimble enough to use as a short baton (should it be needed). It has smart switch logic which makes it very convienient to operate and it has a bright flash mode (strobe/alert). Super modern LED lamp too. I love this product for those dark "what was that noise" inspections outside as well as automobile light/baton combo use. This product should not get anyone in hot water (with the law) anywhere like an obvious weapon only device could. You can't expect to be allowed to carry a nice expandable baton anywhere you go. I think this should/will fly anywhere and is still pretty useable as a short baton.

It is also nicely sized for free hand useage if carrying a pistol, although a 2 hand grip on the pistol is not as nimble as is with a smaller tactical flashlight. But the smaller light isn't nearly as useful solo (no pistol) with critters or prowlers alike. The C cell diameter is very nicely sized. The heft also is very nice. Heavier than an oak short baton but not too heavy.

Top shelf professional cop units are much more spendy. I consider this to be a very nice product for the limited service it will see with me. I bought 2 and 6 fresh C cells every few years keeps then ready to go.

My only negative comment is that the grip is weak/marginal. It is knurled throughout it's midsection, but; it is still pretty slick. I will tack it up with another product (tape wrap or bedliner type product) in order to improve it's gripability with busy/damp/sweaty hands. I tend to grip it too firmly in order to feel I have it securely which slows down any moves. More tack and maybe a little cushion/give would be a very nice enhancement.

Overall, this is a great flashlight, well made, rugged, and puts out a very, very bright light. The variable light features could be quite useful as well. With batteries it is hefty and solid feeling.

One star ding because of two things: the hook and loop closure on the case seems like an afterthought and is poorly positioned. It does not hold the case closed very well and I wish they would use a snap closure. The spot where the hooks meet the loops is placed right over the switch, so when you are pressing the flap down to secure it, chances are you are turning on the flashlight as well. The other thing, more importantly is the switch. It is a small, flush, sealed, soft sort of button which I find hard to locate just by feel, especially wearing gloves. Seems like I have to rotate the flashlight and feel around for the thing. I would rather a traditional sliding switch which could be quickly located and not subject to accidental activation. The worst flaw, in my opinion, is that the switch does not take much pressure to activate and, considering the case is soft sided, it is very easy to inadvertently switch the light on while cased. The case flap covers the lens quite well: so well in fact that if the light is cased and on, the first indication you might have is dead batteries.

Other than this, a great flashlight.

Update: I fixed the closure by removing the cheap hook and loop material and installing a metal snap. After going through several sets of prematurely dead batteries, I got a 6" X 1.5" PVC sink tailpiece (plumbing supplies) which, when inserted into the case, holds the flashlight and makes the case hard sided, thus securing the switch from accidentally activating.

In concurrence with previous reviews, it has two brightness levels: bright as hell, and over 9000. It's an extremely bright flashlight, it feels good in your hand, and you don't need to sell a small country to pay for the batteries. The lens projects a concentrated square of light but also disperses the classic circle of light around the square, just less concentrated. Push the button once for "over 9000" mode, again within 3 seconds for "bright as hell" mode, and hold for 3 seconds for the strobe mode. Excellent flashlight, if this is the first flashlight you've looked at while shopping for flashlights, stop shopping and buy it, you wont find a better one for your money.

Item was as described. I bought two, one for me and one for a Christmas gift. Nice flashlights. Shipping a little on the slow side, but I ordered early so no harm done.

I work in security and was looking for something with decent throw for those far off dark corners and a good size and heft to be used defensibly and a blinding light, this has it! It's not as nice as the $100 police flashlights but it's almost as good and fills that void for security very nicely. At this price I'm letting my co workers know about this nice peace of kit!
