5.0 out of 5 stars Complete Travel Charger
If you are going to be out on the road, or flying to the other side of the world long enough to run down the battery's on your 500 series Palms, then you might as well round out your Road Warrior Bag with this item.

All the extra plug-ins for the Euro circuit are included, and are literally a "snap" to put on. The Travel Charger is light, small, and comes...

Beware, Tungsten E users! Although the heading on this article clearly says that it is for the Tungsten series (among others), it does not in fact fit the Tungsten E.

All the extra plug-ins for the Euro circuit are included, and are literally a "snap" to put on. The Travel Charger is light, small, and comes with a nice bag to hold it all. It won't take up much room in the luggage.

The only con I have is the price. Palm is a little too high here on something it didn't cost that much to produce.

But, I've got mine!

4.0 out of 5 stars Travel Charger works great with m515, January 30, 2003

This review is from: Palm PALM Palm Series Travel Kit (Office Product)
I bought this travel charger for two reasons. One we were
heading to Scandanavia (Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands) and Belgium. This device worked flawlessly everywhere we went.

I was able to use my palm while on vacation (reading Ebooks
or playing games during down time). I didn't have to worry
about losing my charge.

The second reason was to have an additional method to charge
my palm at home. I keep my USB cradle at work. Rather
than buy a second USB cradle for home, I got the travel charger
and a serial sync cable (they were sold out of USB sync cables
as the time).

I don't have any complaints about this charger. The carry bag
is nice. The charger works well, and takes up very little space
(will fit inside a shoe to save travel space). I don't have a problem with the connector. Once you get the hang of it.. its fine.

This along with the folding key boards are the most vital accessories that you can get for the Palm m515. The interal battery has a dismal life and if you use your Palm for any real use (read books, write emails, docs and play games) then you will need to be recharging quite regularly. This is a good charger with several plug adaptors and is really very very useful. Also comes with a cool nylon bag to keep all the parts in.

5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT GADGET TO HAVE, January 2, 2003

I was leery about buying this plug after reading all of the negative reviews, but I took my Palm M515 to a boring four day conference and ran out of juice early on after playing the games and entering pertinent information (you know the M515 does use alot of battery juice with the light on).

I decided to take a chance and like another reviewer did, I plugged the adapter up to my Palm and shook it and wiggled it. It stayed connected just fine. I have not had any problems with the connection being broken and it charges about as fast as when it is connected to the cradle.

Yes, I will admit this adapter is slightly overpriced but my M515 now contains my life and work and I think it is worth it to keep it juiced up without having to lug a computer and cradle with me.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who travels with their palm and knows they will be draining the battery. It would be a shame to have an expensive piece of Palm equipment going to waste because the battery ran out or even worse...

It would be a shame to be stuck in a boring situation and not be able to play with your Palm because the battery ran out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Fine with My Tungsten T, September 1, 2003

The charger pictured is NOT the one you will get. It is the actually the one with 4 different plug inserts for international use. It is not the one with the folding prongs, as shown. But, apparently, if you have a Tungsten T, that makes a big difference. I think the other reviews seem to say that the pictured charger does not stay attached to the Tungsten T. Well, my experience with this Palm Universal Connector is that it stays attached just fine. It even has quite a bit of angular flex in it and still maintains the connection. And, although I don't do any travel abroad, the little black nylon Palm branded bag is really neat for carrying my miscellaneous Palm bits and pieces. All in all, it's exactly what my Tungsten T needed and it is reasonably priced, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works with Palm Tungsten T, December 1, 2002
This review is from: Palm PALM Palm Series Travel Kit (Office Product)
I bought a Palm Tungsten T from Amazon. But shortly after it arrived, I plugged the 120v power adapter to a 220v outlet (I live in Manila, Philippines). Being a product used around the world, its unbecoming for Palm not to provide a universal voltage charger for the Tungsten T. It maybe just the intention of Palm to sell us the Palm Travel Charger.

The specifications of the ruined Palm Tungsten-T charger shows 5v, 1 Ampere, Regulated Power Supply, Positive at Center Polarity. These specs are exactly the same as those found in the Palm Travel Charger so I bought it.

The Palm Travel Charger charges the Tungsten-T directly without need of a cradle. The Palm Travel Charger is light, handy and comes with 3 plug adapters that should make it usable in almost all power outlets in the world. The charger's connector to the Tungsten-T appears frail and flimsy but works quite well.

I would highly recommend this to travellers who wants a lighter weight charger and who wants to charge his Tungsten (and m130, i705 & m500 series) without need to attach the Tungsten to the cradle.

I have a Tungsten T3 and have had none of the problems others report here. The charger works like a charm. Just attach it to the Palm's connector and lay both on a flat surface (maybe these folks with problems are trying to stand it up on end?), and you're good to go. The charger is much smaller than a cradle and thus perfect to take on the road. Bottom line: If you aren't smart enough to use the charger properly, you probably shouldn't be messing with a Palm--try an Etch-a-Sketch instead!

I didn't experience any of the problems stated in some of the other reviews - notably the tendency of the charger to detach from the Palm. Maybe it's because I have a newer PDA (m515) and Palm changed something about where it attaches? In any case, I have used this regularly with my 515 (I travel a lot and use my Palm every day), and I have had no problems whatsover. The prongs fold flat, so it's very compact for travel. For me, it's been indispensible.
