The Touchstone Charging Dock allows you to set your Palm Pre on top of the dock without worrying about connection, orientation or fit. The device remains active while charging, allowing access to the touch screen, movies or video, or the speakerphone option.

With the Touchstone Back Cover snapped onto your Palm Pre, just set your device on the Touchstone Charging Dock and it magnetically snaps into place and begins charging. The magnets align your phone in the correct position for charging, whether in portrait or landscape mode--no cables or connectors required to attach your phone to the dock. And it charges in the same amount of time as wall charger that came with your Palm Pre.

The Charging Dock also offers a number of handy features in addition to keeping your battery topped up:

• Place your phone on the Charging Dock when you're on a call and its speakerphone automatically turns on.
• Pick your phone up from the Charging Dock while you're on speakerphone and the conversation is automatically routed back to the phone.
• For incoming phone calls, simply pick up the phone from the Charging Dock and it answers automatically, without having to tap the screen.
• When the phone is not in use, Nightstand mode displays the time and incoming notifications.

This package includes just the Touchstone Back Cover; to charge your device wirelessly, you also need the separately available Touchstone Charging Dock for Palm Pre.

Much easier to install than I thought and I like the more textured feel of the cover. Makes the Pre seem sturdier. Only need buy this cover if you are buying the touchstone charger as it is unnecessary otherwise.

The Palm Pre Touchstone Backcover brings you to the future with its capability to WIRELESSLY charge your phones. No cables to fumble around with, no annoying sync ports to insert into, just set the Pre onto the Touchstone and BAM!!! your charging. The technology has now been copied to death but Palm was the first to introduce it to consumers. What's great about it is that it has a grippy rubber coating on the outside which is much preferred to the Pre's original slippery and fingerprint-magnet backcover. The only gripe I have is that while charging the phone can get noticably warm. This could just be a result of having the phone on while charging. This accessory is a must have for the Palm Pre but if your buying the Palm Pre Plus, it come included so don't buy this backcover unless you need a replacement!!!!!

I was able to get this for $2.34 from the same seller back in early June. I can see it's not still that cheap, but even at $4.50 it's still a good deal. Here are my takes on it after using it for a month.

Pros:
My Touchstone back cover came new
Has a good smooth feel to it that's nicer than the stock Pre back cover.
It takes scratches well as I've dropped it several times on concrete and it hasn't scuffed up very noticeably.
Allows you to charge your Pre on the Touchstone without having to plug it in! Great time saver.

Cons:
Phone gets a bit warm when using on the Touchstone
Sometimes it takes a few adjustments on the Touchstone to get it at the right position to charge correctly (I've noticed that when you have it a little bit off your screen will say "Charging Battery" then go off the screen and come up and say the "Charging Battery" over and over until you adjust the placement of it. That's not necessarily a problem with the Touchstone back cover as it is just a part of using the Touchstone in general

Overall this is a great item at a cheap price. If you can get over to Verizon's website if they are still offering those Touchstone docks and charging cables for $4.97 each get a couple! 5 stars!
