4.0 out of 5 stars One at home one at the office
This is definitely the way to go if you want to keep an officecomputer and home computer in sync. Just get the extra cradle and use your Palm as the go-between. Amazon definitely has the best price I've found on this - most places sell at retail.

3.0 out of 5 stars Does what it's supposed to do, but there is a better option
There really isn't too much to say about the cradle. Drop in the Palm, hit the button and it syncs. However, save yourself a few dollars and buy the serial cable instead. It is cheaper, more portable, and most importantly for me, easier to plug into my Palm because I keep it secured in a carrying case.

1.0 out of 5 stars Practically useless, July 19, 2003

Don't expect a USB cable on this cradle. This cradle is just like the one that came with the Palm IIIx, and that's fine if you haven't upgraded your computer in years, but who has serial ports on their machines these days? To use this cradle you have to buy an adapter and install a driver to run it, and for an old PDA it hardly seems worth the trouble. For the time and energy you spend doing that, you're better off just upgrading your PDA.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hot Sync Cradle - a nice addition to the Palm III, July 18, 1999

I appreciate the fact I can have a "one touch" backup with my Palm III. After the set up and proper hardware configuration, transmission is a snap.

5.0 out of 5 stars One for home and office, September 26, 2000

After a year and a half of only able to sync at home or dragging the cradle to the office I broke down and bought a second cradle. I am glad I did. Saves me time and effort either dragging data or equipment to and fro. This is a must for organization.

You can't really say much about this. If you have a Palm, you know exactly what it does and how it works. I just needed one at home and one at work (like everyone else does) so this did the trick. Wish they were available in the same color as my IIIxe, but it doesn't really matter all that much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I wanted, September 12, 2001

When I bought my Palm III from a friend I found out that he negleted to give me the dock station or anything more than instructions meant for another palm pilot. (I was screwed over) And I want to buy a dock station for my palm pilot. When I got this it was very simple to use. And with a download from www.palm.com I was able to connect my computer to my palm pilot. I love it.

I still have not rec'd the cradle I ordered and paid for. Can you help? I would rate it no stars but it
wouldn't allow me to do it.

I have a couple of these. It makes it easy to sync between multiple computers.

Unfortunately, I now need to upgrade my conduit software to get it to work with MS Office 2003. The cost of the software is more than I paid for my last PALM III. I'm not one to pay for something twice, so I'll be tossing this PDA out or giving it away.

If you are thinking about getting one of these, my advice is don't unless you are running legacy software and plan not to upgrade.

I wanted a cradle for an old Palm III. Palm does not carry this nor does anyone else. Then I found it here. Exactly what I wanted. Exactly what I expected. Exactly what I got. The cradle was inexpensive and works perfectly.
