When I first saw the Dual Action Stylus, I thought "ofcource, how brilliant". So I when out a spend my hard earned money on this 30+ dollars assorie, for my loved Palm IIIx. But was I dissapointed. It's a bad (very bad), ordinary pen, and just a standard stylus for the Palm. A complete waste of money. Keep your stylus, and spend your money on a normal pen instead. (The only plus side is that it looks stunning).

It's incredible how Palm co. could create this type of pen. It is very nice. It looks fabulous on my palm V. I works fine, the only detail is the function of the pen. When you trun the stylus to bring out the pen, it feels as if you can turn it all the way and break it a part. My stylus in fact, after two weeks of usage broke and I had to try to fix it and saw the whole inner functions of the pen. It is made all out of plastic, but not the hard good one, but instead the type of elastic, cheap plastic. I finally fixed it but i'm fully disapointed with this product. I still use it because the functionability of having a pen on my palm helps a lot. Before you buy it, you better take a look on it... feel it and try it.

I got a palm vx and i always have it in my pocket with my keys. I got this pen b/c it fits very nicely with the palm. Since I was bring my palm wherever I go, may as well get a pen with it.

The design is great, fits just like part of your palm, but the price is kind of steep. 25 buck here for a tiny pen??, i got mine for 40bucks and felt kind of rib-off. It only comes with two refills. You CANNOT get the refills anywhere!!!

I like the idea of a dual action stylus...and, compared to the other ones I have purchased and looked at, this has been by far the best. I find the stylus easier to use and far more efficient...and while the pen leaves something to be desired, it's very handy for writing down quick notes. The sleek design is awesome, and it definately looks good to show off. I reccomend it to people who have problems holding the normal thin stylus and Palm beginners.

Im not quite sure what palm was thinking when it made this stylus. Although it really looks nice, as a pen it is absolutely lousy. It's not much better as a stylus too.

First of all, the pen itself is mediocre. To retract the pen is quite difficult. I almost broke it just trying to figure out how it worked

As a stylus, its strange how it works. Its slightly off center so its quite disorienting to use. The tip is not where you expect it to be.

Although it was substantially thicker than the stock stylus, it was incredibly light giving it a "flimsy" feel.

Considering all its drawbacks i am almost shocked how much Palm is charging for this thing. Its quite outrageous actually.

However it does have its good points. The clip fits the stylus silo so you can attach it there. With this pen attached to the V series it actually conforms to the overall shape of the unit. It looks really nice. Also the combination of the silver hard case, and this pen looks REALLY good.

Personally i use a multi-pen. It has a 0.7 mechanical pencil, blue pen and a stylus. All on a regular sized pen. I absolutely love it. Its a perfect weight and it looks professional and casual at the same time. Try it out, i promise you'll never use the stock stylus again.

I have used this stylus for the past 2 years and I have to say that I am still impressed with the design. There are countless third-party pen/stylus combo units which might be better pens, but they don't fit nearly as conveniently with the Palm unit itself. The pocket clip will fit right in the side barrel of the V and Vx models . It isn't any longer than the Palm itself so carrying it is easy. A "regular" pen/stylus which must be kept separately defeats the whole point of a "bundled" option. This is a very good alternative to the standard stylus and should be considered...

...I was looking forward to a heavy duty, well constructed useful item. This wasn't it. As in the earlier review, it looks kind of cool, but feels like a drinking straw in your hand. It is so light as to feel hollow, doesn't feel like it would stand up to a stiff wind, let alone daily use. Shame on Palm for producing such outstanding products, and then putting their name on a piece of garbage like this. This only receives one star, because Amazon won't allow less.

I was disappointed with this item. It looks very cool, but is too expensive for what you get. The stylus is the same size in length as a regular Palm V stylus. It is thicker and has a light weight plastic feel to it. If it had been heavier, a bit longer, and had a smoother pen mechanism, I would have been happy.

People who appreciate the funcionality and durability of the Palm unit, rightfully expect that other items put out by Palm (3-Com) should be of equal quality. Obviously, 3-Com is overwhelmed with success and is already forgetting about quality. This pen may look great in the picture, but reality is often stanger than fiction, the fiction being that this is a reliable product. If you want a good pen, look to a quality pen manufacturer like Cross. They have a pen called the DigitalDuo Writer. It is very practical, functional, and durable. 3-Com would look much better if they did their homework before putting out substandard products.
