4.0 out of 5 stars Inside is a matter of taste
In contrast to the Palm M100 slim leather case which uses only velcro to hold the PDA in place, this case has a leather framework into which the PDA slides. 3.0 out of 5 stars Good product with one flaw
This case is very nice but it has one flaw. The stylus is difficult to remove while the palm is in the case.

In contrast to the Palm M100 slim leather case which uses only velcro to hold the PDA in place, this case has a leather framework into which the PDA slides. The leather has openings for the screen and buttons. I find this design a bit less appealing visually and wonder if the openings will be prone to getting caught and torn. Either of these two approaches are different from the clear and rather sturdy plastic used to hold the PDA in place with the Palm Glove design. It's really all a matter of taste. So far my friends have each chosen different cases with no duplication. Wise of Palm to offer so many choices.

Others have already mentioned the one other feature that may be a flaw -- that the stylus is difficult to remove unless the case is fully opened. The leather quality on this particular case is, however, quite nice and the case does work very well for those who want to carry their M100 on a belt. Note that the the case stays closed with velcro as does the belt loop (making it adjustable).

3.0 out of 5 stars Adequate case, May 23, 2001
This review is from: PalmOne m100 series Leather Flip Case (Office Product)
To be truthful I never wanted to buy a case for my Palm m100 in the first place, but the hinges on the plastic flip cover that came with it broke apart after only 3 months. Because I could not find a replacement part, in order to have my Palm protected I had to buy a case. I am not overjoyed with this product, but it is adequate and does the job that it was designed to do.

All of the complaints about this product are true. The Velcro is small and it can be difficult to close the cover on the case, the stylus is difficult to remove unless the cover is flipped all the way open, the stitching is of poor quality and does not look like it will last. Another irritating that I have discovered is that the opening seems to be off a little bit. It covers up the screen a little bit at the top.

However, the nice thing about this case are that is made of very nice leather and the Velcro beltloop is very convenient. With this case strapped to my belt, I usually remove the Palm from the case without removing the case from my belt in order to use it. I have taken to using the case more as a belt holster. This way, the problems of the stylus and the mismatched opening are not a problem. This is the manner that I would recommend using this product.

Why 3 stars?: I feel the case was poorly designed and will far apart and be unsatisfying in the long run. However, using it as a holster is very convenient and attractive - even if it does a little bit of bulk.

4.0 out of 5 stars Convinient and Useful, August 25, 2000

I just bought the Palm M100 which I'm already in love with, and then comes along this great case. Not only is it professional in appearance it is useful as well. I just feel stupid for paying more for it elsewhere when it's available for less here. I strongly reccomend it.

I recently got my case and have to agree with the issues on the front velcro. You have to put a little effort into getting it closed and staying closed.

Other than that, I love it. Fits on my belt nicely, lets me connect the hotsync cable and access the buttons, makes my palm m100 easy to carry.

As for the stylus problem... the sides of the enclosure into which you slip the palm are elastic cloth, This allows you to slip the stylus into the side of the case if you want. Then you can access it rather easily. The elastic is open at the bottom, meaning there's a possibility of losing the stylus, but I haven't lost mine yet.

As for the bulk it adds... Any case will add some bulk. I'm a 6' tall male with good size hands, so the bulk doesn't affect my ability to hold the unit easily and use my m100. Generally, I like it, but the weak design of the front velcro does keep the case from scoring 5 stars in my book.

4.0 out of 5 stars stylus issue, November 4, 2000

i purchased my m100 at circuit city without realizing that the stylus was missing. upon returning to the store, they gave me one that didn't fit perfectly. it fit, but the top of the stylus wasn't flush with the main m100 unit. this used to bother me until i got the leather flip case and read complaints about the stylus being difficult to access. i'm not sure what sort of stylus i have but i have no problems accessing it from the leather flipcase.

my one complaint, however, would be that the velcro on the flipcase is angled so that it takes some effort to stick the pieces together. overall, a really nice product. it looks neat with a colored faceplate peeking out underneath too.

*may 15th, 2011 update* my case has faithfully protected my palm pilot for 10 years. still four stars!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not perfect, but considerably better than the other options, April 12, 2001

I have owned both the PalmGlove case and the Leather Flip case, and I feel the Leather Flip case to be superior.

The Leather Flip case is more durable. Within one week of owning the PalmGlove, the snap closure came off, and the plastic shield that holds the palm in place was already coming unsewn.

However the majority of the complaints stated about the Leather Flip case are true. The stylus is annoying to take out, and the velcro closure doesn't seem to work great (it does work, though).

It is my opinion though, that the winner between the two is the Leather Flip case. My suggetion: If you're going to buy a case for your m100 or m105, get the leather one.

The tiny bit of velcro that they use to keep the cover closed wears out quickly.

The case fit my Palm 130 very nicely, but IT DOESN'T FIT IN THE HOTSYNC CRADLE. There's an opening for the HotSync connection, but the lip on the case is too thick and the connection can't be made. So much for leaving the Palm in the case to HotSync.

4.0 out of 5 stars Luxurious but a little bulky, September 21, 2000

This is a very nicely made case for the m100, but that reinforced leather flip top does add bulk. I bought the m100 at least partly because it's very thin and easier to carry around in a pocket. When the leather flip case arrived, it was clear that keeping the m100 in that case would make the whole thing as bulky as the Palm Pilot it was replacing. (I can't give dimensions because I've already returned it and will be trying the slim leather case next.) If you think that you will mainly be carrying the m100 in a bag or looped over a belt, this case will work fine.
