The future is here now!,
By James Kallestad (Minneapolis, MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Palmer Lake (Hardcover)
I literally could not put this book down until I was finished. The Scientific community has been my life and this book has the Scientists of the world salivating. It was a pleasure reading "fiction" that is very very close to future reality. A complete mystery with a shocking and pleasant end.

Palmer Lake,
This review is from: Palmer Lake (Hardcover)
What a story! Stirs your fantasy and imagination. Very exciting writing. I could not put the book aside before I had finished - that meant a full night without sleep. The story behind and the thourough research McCollum has done provides a mindbugging outlook, what cryonics might be able to do in the future. Very good reading, colourful caracters and a fantastic plot - a full thumbs up.

A glimpse of where the near future just might lead,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Palmer Lake (Hardcover)
Thomas McCollum's Palmer Lake is a disturbing novel offering a glimpse of where the near future just might lead. A wealthy man commits suicide, and his body is cryogenically preserved - but when some question of whether or not he was murdered arises, advances in cryogenic technology imply that he just might be revived to name his killer! Palmer Lake is truly compelling saga of lies, deceit, money, and power.

Spine Tingling,

McCollum has written a good story that keeps you in suspense until the very end. It's a little far-fetched perhaps, but who would have believed cloning a sheep was possible 20 years ago either. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to combine a little sciene with suspense.

It is called fiction isn't it?,

I'd call the book okay, but not much more. There is basically an interesting story plot, but the characters mostly seem artificial and wooden (couldn't use frozen could I?) If it weren't a local guy, I would have passed on it

One fantastic Read,

This book grips you right from the beginning, with a tense scene that got me hooked before I had even flipped through the fist few pages. After that them mystery and suspense keeps building. It was one book that was hard to put down and easy to keep reading - in fact it was hard to do anything else BUT read it until I finally finished it.It is hard to classify this book. It has elements of mystery, sci-fi, and adventure. Love and suspense. Something for everyone and a book just about everyone is going to enjoy. A must-be book, as far as I'm concerned.

Thomas McCollum's New Book,
By Sandy Simon (Delray Beach, Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Palmer Lake (Hardcover)
When I read Mr. McCollum's first book, "Tainted Blood," I couldn't stop. I loved eagerly anticipating the words on the next page. It was expertly researched and written with thoughtfulness toward the reader, especially regarding Aids and all that word conjures. I have long-awaited Mr McCollum's next book, wondering if he could top it. Well, In "Palmer Lake," HE HAS!The twists and turns of this murder mystery are spellbinding. Again, Mr. McCollum brings to us a cutting-edge issue and suspense. This time, it's Cryonics. Heard of it yet? YOU WILL! As a fellow author, I marvel at Mr. McCollum's comprehensive knowledge of his subject, his character descriptions, and James Patterson-like ability to hold the reader's attention page after page. In sum, I have five words to say: READ IT, YOU'LL LOVE IT! |
