About the Author

Vernon Mahabal is the founder and director of The Palmistry Institute in San Francisco. In 1979, he began formal training in Vedic (Eastern) cosmology which took him to India many times. He combines Western astrological palmistry with Chinese elemental hand analysis, while continuing new research. Mahabal has read thousands of hands and given hundreds of lectures. He has had his own national cable/satellite show, and written numerous articles on palmistry, including some for the New York Daily News and many Bay Area periodicals. Further, he has had his own radio show in New York, called "The Palmistry Show with Vernon Mahabal," and has been a consultant with the New York Police Department, using palmistry to aid in suspect profiling.

These cards are great fun. Each one has a picture of a hand with a certain line or characteristic on them, then you can check it against your hand to see if you have that particular trait. They aren't technically worded, so you don't have to worry about not knowing palmistry, and it's not like you have to be a psychic or something, either. These aren't like tarot cards, where you need to do a lot of studying, or need to know esoteric symbolism. You just look at the card and look at your own hand. Can you handle that? Yes, I think you can.

The all-over look of the cards is very nice; the cover makes it look old-fashioned, like it's from the days of yore. It almost has a 19th century feel to it. It also comes with a little instruction book that is packed with information.

I brought these to work, and everyone was all over them. We all had a lot of fun looking for "lines we had."

These cards are well illustrated, the "key points" are very helpful, and overall this set of cards is a great way to introduce palm reading to anybody! The only thing I didn't like was that the cards were repetitive..........and I also didn't like that they were big....but you can't have everything, and I say that you should get this set if you are interested in learning palmistry!

I have wanted to learn palmistry for a long time and I know that I have found a Master Palmist here with these cards. Vernon's books and these cards were created by someone who knows the Art and depth of Palm Reading. Buy these cards. They are beautiful and extremely informative. After playing with these cards you begin to get a foundational understanding of this ancient art and begin to understand the Hand. Which by the way is no easy task. But start anyway. And these cards are the best place to start!
