If you belong to the lucky ones living in a warm climate and want to learn basics about palm and cycas culture - well, this is your book! Excellent illustrations and good, compact information. If you need in-depth information on palms or if you live in a zone 7 or 8 climate, this book may not be complete enough for you, because many frost hardy palms have been omitted.
In this so called "Complete" guide no information is given about winter protection and how to cultivate palms with borderline hardiness in your garden.

I always feel angry when connecting palm and cycad together. These are completely different plants. And this book more emphaseses on palms instead of Cycad. As a cycad lover, I would take the part of description of palms as rubbish. Howevery, it is still having somthing inside worth reading, e.g. it provides some imformation on cultivating. And the price of the book is low enough. For this reason, I give two stars for this book.
