Once Great, Now Crapola Pampers Cruisers,
By New in VT "Mom of 2 Peanuts, escapist reader :)" (Vermont, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pampers Cruisers (Health and Beauty)
We are a family 3 years into our use of Pampers (multiple boys) and have always been huge fans. Cruisers (historically) almost never leak and diaper rash has rarely been an issue. I've never blinked at the higher price because I felt it was well worth having dry happy babies, both day and night. But sometime this summer, Pampers made the executive decision to vastly reduce the quality of the Cruisers (they reduced the absorbency and removed the keep-dry liner which ironically is still described in the current product description) without notifying customers or changing the packaging. This seems like a horribly unethical thing to do. I'm surprised there aren't more negative comments here in response to the lowered quality of the product (check out the other major online outlet for diapers if you want to see pages of angry customers). Personally after spending (literally) thousands of dollars with Pampers over the years I'm shocked by the silent switch in product.
Rumor has it that the "old" Cruisers are now being rebranded as Cruisers Premium and are only available at Target (presumably this is some test marketing scheme). Unfortunately as Target doesn't exist in VT and I'm loathe to pay the huge shipping fees from Target.com I cannot confirm that these new Cruisers Premium are in fact the same as our old beloved Cruisers. We've switched to Huggies which seem prone to leaks and seem to have a sharper urine smell to them, even when relatively fresh. But there doesn't seem to be any alternatives (although I am open to suggestion is anybody has any good ones to share!). But I'm really disgusted by the way Pampers has squandered their customer loyalty. If they wanted to pump up profit margins, I would have preferred that they simply raised the prices which would have been more honest and respectful. Excuse me, I have to go change my baby who has apparently leaked through his Huggies while I've been writing this review. Bah....

New Cruiser without mesh-lining LEAK!,
By Satimo (Tulsa, OK USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pampers Cruisers (Health and Beauty)
I have been a pampers customer since my son was born 20 months ago. I loved their OLD cruisers diapers. I can NOT say the same for there newly changed cruisers. First, I would like to say that I didn't appreciate them changing the diapers and not letting their consumers know. They could have even lied and put "new and improved mesh free lining" on the box. Secondly, it was very sneaky, to say the very least, that they made this change to the new lining during the holiday season when their customers might be to busy to notice. Well, i noticed as did my friends and family. Repeatedly my friends and family had to change their clothes because my sons pee leaked through onto their clothing while they were holding him. Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like being peed on. Not only that, but my sons diaper doesn't make it through the night anymore, it leaks all over him, his crib and his pj's. Thirdly, I am disappointed that pampers did not pass on the saving to us. I already spend $40 per box of pampers, if you are going to spend less money on making them then pass the savings on to your customers as well, even if I only spend .02 less a diaper.
I called customer service they were very nice but informed me this was a "permanent" change. They are sending me 4 $10 off coupons I guess to encourage me to keep buying their diapers after their shafty and questionable behavior. I am changing brands to a non P&G brand, which brand, i don't know yet. Buyers BEWARE!

A major change for the worse,
By Jim S (Seattle, WA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pampers Cruisers (Health and Beauty)
I'll repeat what the other recent reviews have said. Ignore any review that were written before December 2009 - they were written about an entirely different product. That old product was wonderful. We used Pampers exclusively for the last 16 months and almost never had failures or leaks.
But, like I said, that was a different product. As of our most recent purchase, they've re-designed the diapers to be thinner and a whole lot less effective. The diapers have a lot less absorbing capacity. It's a rare morning these days where my son's sleeper isn't soaked because his diaper leaked. Unfortunately, we ordered a big box and now we're stuck with them. As of tomorrow, we're going to start experimenting with other brands. So, to summarize: Before: more expensive, but more effective. Worth the cost. After: more expensive, nearly useless. Waste of money.

From Best to Worst!,

I used to love this diaper that never leaked and now it leaks on a regular basis. I've had leaks that soak my daughters' pants yet leave the diaper dry and flat. The nice mesh liner is gone and there is nothing in the back of the diaper but a thin liner that you can almost see through if you hold it up to the light. Anyone have any suggestions on what diaper to use now? I'm pissed and I want my money back! Proctor and Gamble why would you risk your flagship brand with this crap! Now it's going to take your company years to gain back its market share.

Miser Scrooge Holiday Quality Switch,
This review is from: Pampers Cruisers (Health and Beauty)
(This post was made prior to the new Dry Max 20% tinner Diaper)
Loyal and New Pampers buyers beware! Pampers has changed the quality of their diapers. THey are no longer the 5 star product rated here. Please read all the new reviews only. Dear Pampers, What a horrible thing to do. You changed the quality of the pampers and didn't let us know on the packaging and then you did this right at the holidays/Christmas. What kind of miser scrooge underhanded people are you? We have bought nothing but Pampers from day one and my wife and I hate the new diapers! I still can't believe you have done this without any kind of notification and tried to sneak it over on us during the Holidays/Christmas. That's really low ball and underhanded. I returned the two value boxes we bought last night and we are switching to Huggies. The Huggies brand little movers are so much better than these new pampers and the same cost. They dont have the mesh lining but at least the Huggies center material is softer and goes up further on the back and the front. In fact, the band seems to be better than even the old Pampers. The new pampers center padding is stiffer and only has a small section in the middle. It doesn't go up far in the back or the front. Nothing like the old ones and nothing like Huggies! Way to go pampers, you just lost a life long customer. Our daughter is 18 months old now and we planned on having more children. So you just lost out on any profit from us for the rest of our kids. What are you going to do? Try to be as good as Huggies? So what, let's say you can at least do that, it wont matter at this point. Why would we switch back from Huggies unless you can beat them in quality. Especially after the aggravation. The only way we would consider switching back is by going back to the way they use to be. Especially after the manner in which you guys have done this. Not listing it on the package and doing this right at Christmas time is pretty crappy and is an extremely Scrooge/Miser tactic.

Used to work, now they are thin and leak,

I used to use these a few years ago with my son and thought they were great, now I tried them on my daughter and am completely dissapointed! Well after using them for a week, I realized that these were not the diapers I used to use. These diapers are super thin, leak all the time and are worse than the Luvs. I ended up going back to costco diapers, which are wonderful thick and leak free! What a dissapointment! I hope Pampers recognizes this and goes back to making them the way they use to!

new pampers cruisers,
By
This review is from: Pampers Cruisers (Health and Beauty)
I have two children 14 months apart and over the last 2 years I have bought nothing but swaddlers and cruisers after quickly coming to the conclusion that these diapers were far superior. I order my diapers from [...] and when my first box of the new cruisers arrived I thought there must have been a mistake on the assembly line or in packaging and the wrong diapers where in the trusted cruisers box. Then my next order arrived and I noticed the same bait and switch and I am beyond mad that the package is exactly the same, the price is the same but the diapers are now complete crap. I've since been battling rashes, leaks, and blow outs on a daily basis something the previously only occurred with any brand other than pampers cruisers. I'm not going to pay pampers prices for a diaper that no longer performs better than the less expensive competition.

MISSING THE MESH LINER,
By Michelle (Portland, OR) - See all my reviews

I used to love cruisers. Now that they have taken out the mesh liner, my little girl is getting rashes. When I contacted pampers, they said they were "experimenting" and that some diapers out there had the mesh & others didn't (and there was no way you could tell by the packaging). They claimed to still have A liner, which I suppose is technically true, but it doesn't work like the mesh and leaves too much moisture against my baby's skin. It also sounded to me like they are phasing out the mesh liner in favor of this new diaper. Time to look for a new diaper, I guess.

From best to worst - why oh why did Pampers change their Cruisers?,
By Weston7717 (FL, USA) - See all my reviews

Having used first Swaddlers and then Cruisers since my daughter's birth in 2008, I am horrified by the recent (early 2010) "improvement" to the design. I've only had one box of the "new" design and am disgusted - we had a day time leak, because the diaper bunched and leaked even though it wasn't even close to being saturated and we've had 2 night-time leaks. Neither of these situations ever occurred with the old style. In a comparison of the new versus the old (I still had a couple in the diaper bag) the new ones seem to have substantially less absorbent material and are bulkier around the leg area, with less shaping to provide the flexibility and comfort that was much appreciated in the past. Am now going to have to seriously consider trying another brand :-(
Pampers - who did you quality control & test this new design with? These are beyond shockingly bad! A very disappointed & until now loyal Pampers customer.

Buyer beware!! "NEW COKE" formula,
By
This review is from: Pampers Cruisers (Health and Beauty)
This is the NEW COKE of diapers. P&G switched the formula on how this diaper is made. Ever since our daughter was born, we've religiously used Swaddlers and Cruisers and have recommended them to our friends. Well, this new Cruiser diaper is completely different and has a lot less absorbent pad material. I wonder if even the Baby Dry ones are different? Like most of the new reviews, the new diapers do not work and causes diaper rash. If anyone at P&G can hear this, SWITCH back!!! Please go back to Classic Cruisers!
