Here's just a short video I uploaded to show exactly what the box and packaging for these diapers look like. I also show the designs, the features and comparison with the Costco diapers. Pampers actually makes cheaper diapers, but lack some of the features such as the wetness indicator. This particular size pack of Pampers is one of the best values out there. I'm pretty sure that I was sent fake Pampers from Amazon. They have a weird chemical smell and do not look the same as other size 1 Pampers that I bought from a store. There are two red marks on the front and the Sesame Street characters do not look the same. The patter on the outside of the diaper (white part) is also different. The Pampers I bought at the grocery store have a diamond pattern and the Amazon (fake) diapers have a wave. The sizing also seems off. And my daughter never had blowouts or leaky diapers and we had a massive down the leg explosion this morning. I've attached a photo showing the Amazon (fake) diaper on the left and the grocery store (real) diaper on the right.

Hi Amanda,

I'm sorry you were unhappy with your recent purchase of our Swaddlers. It may help to know that we've made some recent improvements to our Swaddlers' soft outer cover and the way the diapers distribute the wetness, which should provide a better fit with less sagging. Based on your pictures, it looks like have received a package of our newer diapers. We haven't changed the leakage protection of our diapers and wouldn't want your little one to be having blowouts. We're parents too and understand how leaks can interrupt your day. Sometimes a larger size can help prevent this.

The chemical odor you mentioned is possibly the scent of the raw materials used during manufacturing which can be more noticeable if the package is freshly made. We want you to be satisfied with your choice of Pampers and would be happy to help with this. If you'd like to reach out to one of our experts, we can be reached at 1-877-256-3265.

I love the indicator-line which does not require me to open the diaper to see whether my baby has peed. A reminder: buy a diaper one size larger than what your baby needs. Sometimes it is too tight on the thigh if you buy exactly according to the weight instruction of the diaper.

We've used Pampers swaddlers since leaving the hospital, until recently. Recently we received a shipment of Pamper Swaddlers and immediately notice a strong chemical smell after opening the diapers. The smell was so strong that it was nauseating. At first we thought that maybe the smell was from the UPS truck that it was shipped on, but there are three individually sealed packs in the box. So after reading some reviews on Amazon and Babycenter I found out that other parents notice the same smell. The parents in some of the reviews said they notice the chemical smell (not the powder fresh smell) and said that their little one had experienced diaper rashes that they believed was caused from using the chemical smelling Diapers. I also thought that this might be an amazon only issue. But I went to Target and SAMs and found the same smell in many of the diaper boxes on the shelves. So I wonder if this is a Pampers manufacturing issue. It's sad because I really liked Pampers, now we have are little one in Huggies. We've experienced a couple of leaks with Huggies, which we were able to fix with proper positioning of the diaper. Huggies have a fresh smell, this puts my mind at ease knowing that I'm not exposing my child to a diaper that smells like motor oil. While the smell does dissipate after a few days it's still noticeable, which is unacceptable.

Ric, I'm so sorry to hear you noticed such a strong odor with your Pampers Swaddlers. It sounds like you're noticing the glue used to tie the different parts of the diapers together. If this glue is hot when the products are packed, it can cause the scent of the glue to come out of the package when opened. Please be assured, this doesn't happen all the time and and may be more noticeable when the products are freshly made. If you'd like to share more with us, please feel free to give us a call at 1-877-256-3265. Thanks for your review and hope you'll give Pampers another try.

We've always used Pampers with our daughter, and it is so nice to get them delivered to our doorstep before we run out each month! I love the economy size- it buys you more time :)

Different products from the market. It suppose be very soft like cotton but this one is like towel and cause the diaper rash. Won't buy it from Amazon again even it's cheaper. First and third pics are the one bought from Amazon.

This is the second box of size 1 diapers we purchased. The first box was great! No leaks, no blow outs, worked perfectly, would have given this product 5 stars. Now--we have a blow out at least 1-2x/day, always at the least opportune times (at her 1 month birthday celebration, getting ready to leave the pediatrician's office). And by blowout, I mean poop riding all the way up her back and destroying her clothing. I've had to throw out several of her outfits simply because there are giant poop stains that won't come out with heavy duty laundry detergent and hand-scrubbing. She has not outgrown the size, our baby is 9 lbs 13 oz as of today (the pediatrician blow out was an hour ago), supposedly these are good until they are 14 lbs? I would really appreciate a response from the company to address these issues and possibly a refund.

Hi Joshua,

I'm sorry you've been having blow-outs with your second box of Swaddlers. I can understand your frustration and please know we're happy to help with your purchase. While newborn's BMs can be quite runny, our Swaddlers are designed with an Asborb Away liner which should help absorb and pull in the wetness. We wouldn't want you to be having stained clothes to wash and I'll share your comments. I also hope you'll give Pampers another try and our experts are available at 1-877-256-3265 to help you further.

We've got a few different brands diapers to try and see what works best for us. We used Huggies in size N for the first two weeks after our baby was born and did not have any issues except of two leaks. Then started to use Pampers Swaddlers in size 1 and my baby got a diaper rash next day. And she's being changed frequently. I noticed that every time I change her wet diaper her butt is wet, and I believe this is the reason she's got that diaper rash cause baby is wet pretty much all the time she wears these diapers. Did not have any leaks though. Another thing - these stink, strong chemical smell as soon as you open the box! And you can feel the smell in the room. So now I have over 200 of these diapers which I'm afraid to use as I really do not want my baby to get diaper rash again.

Hanna, I am so sorry to hear about your disappointment. I want to first assure you that the safety of the little ones who wear our diapers is our top and biggest priority. This is why every material that goes into manufacturing our diapers is heavily tested by external dermatologists, pediatricians and safety experts. Nothing in our diapers should cause this reaction, but we'd like to speak with you further so we can figure out the best way to help. Regarding the smell you're experiencing, an unusual smell can happen for different reasons. For example, the adhesive used to tie the different parts of the diaper together may still be hot when the products are packed, causing the adhesive's smell to come out of the package when opened. This should not happen often, and may be more noticeable when the products are freshly made. Please reach out to us so we can address the concerns you're experiencing at 1-877-256-3265. Thank you.

We have used Pampers Swaddlers in the past and the baby powder scent was light and barely noticeable. I'm not sure why--maybe Pampers changed the scent or maybe we received a defective package--but chemical stench of the most recent pack we purchased is intolerable. The entire nursery stinks from the open box of diapers, and the smell is so overpowering that I can smell my daughter's (clean!) diaper from several feet away, through multiple layers of clothing. If it gives me a headache, I can't imagine how my daughter feels, so I'm not willing to use any more of these and am stuck with over 200 diapers in an opened box that is not returnable. We won't be buying Pampers again.
