Only diaper that fit my newborn...,
By Kaya's Mumma (APO, AP) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pampers Swaddlers Diapers, Newborn Sesame Street, 40-Count (Health and Beauty)
I didn't expect my daughter to be so small when she was born. She was 6lbs 3oz and was tiny! We had to buy preemie clothes for her because nothing else fit.. especially diapers. I loved these, they wrapped around her perfectly and came up higher in the back, never had a problem with them leaking EVER and she was breastfed in the beginning. She's now gone through the size 1's and are about to start the size 2. I am just sad that they don't make them past size 2. Great diapers. Love the stretchy sides too. I didn't find the problem with folding them down for the umbilical cord either- it falls off so quickly anyway, what's the big deal? And I REALLY love the cloth-like feeling. I hate hate hate "papery" diapers. Really wish they made them to a much bigger size.

THE CONTROVERSY HUGGIES VS PAMPERS,
By
This review is from: Pampers Swaddlers Diapers, Newborn Sesame Street, 40-Count (Health and Beauty)
I was very fortunate and was given both pamper swaddlers ( HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) And Huggies Newborns. In a huge amount of both. My son was 6 + lbs and i found that the huggies always were to big causing him to leak, also leaving crystals on his bottom. As far as Pampers i loved that it was stretchy and seemed to fit him. For every baby it varies im sure, i say buy both, i have stuck with Pampers from the beggining because we NEVER have leaks. And I havent tried huggies since, because of the crystals. Its a small price difference.
As far as how there is two pamper brands ( when you get past swaddlers there is pamper purple and pamper baby dry ( green) ) I recommend the purple for boys and the green for girls. They are padded differently and James always leaked in the green and never the purple, and my girlfirends daughter always leaked in purple and never in the green. :) Hope this helpS!! All in all i was completely satisfied!!!!

Swaddlers are super!,

We use cloth diapers during the day, but choose to use disposable overnight. With Huggies Supreme we were having leaks from wet diapers almost every other day. With the Swaddlers we did not have one single leak.
As far as messy diapers, it is apparent when our son has a messy diaper and we change him promptly. We have never had a leak and there have been some very messy diapers. To the reviewer that talks about ruined clothes. Try the Bi-O-Kleen laundry detergent and stain remover.

Baby Xyzika Loved Swaddlers,

when my wife and I had a newborne last year, we worried like all parents do. As the diapers, we wanted to go cloth (ecological) but no diaper services were in our area. We used Swaddlers exclusively for sizes N, 1, and 2, and then, without explanation, we never found Swaddlers 3--but I digress.
The diapers performed very well, and of 100,000 some diapers used, only one was defective. Actually, we ended up using about 160 size N, 300 size 1, and 300 size 2, just in case you want to buy a palette. One other note ... use unscented baby wipes because the swaddlers have an aroma themselves, and aloe or lavender on top of the swaddler scent, which doesn't appear to have a name, can compete with your baby's natural smells you will get used to.

Know how big your baby is??,

I was just writing this review to remind you moms-to-be that some babies are larger at birth. This diaper is only up to 11 lbs. If you have a larger baby, they won't be in these for long (or not at all) Some stores will let you trade an unopened package of diapers without the receipt for a larger size, others won't. We ended up having to donate ours to a local women's shelter because we couldn't use them & couldn't swap them at our local store, but at least someone needed & used them. I would just advise to be careful how many of these you "stock up" on.

The only good choice for preemies!,
By
This review is from: Pampers Swaddlers Diapers, Newborn Sesame Street, 40-Count (Health and Beauty)
My preemie twin boys have been in pampers since day 1 -- first, they wore a special micro-preemie diaper made by pampers for hospitals, then graduated to pampers swaddler preemie size. The preemie size fit them from 2.5 pounds up to 6+ pounds. Like most preemies, my boys have skinny legs and tiny tushies, but due to the stretchyness of the tabs and the entire waistband, the swaddlers have made for a perfect fit everytime!
These are sooo versatile! The larger of my twins is about 6.5 pounds now and is using the NB size swaddler, however, in a pinch a preemie size does the job. Vice versa, my little peanut is only 4.5 pounds, but a NB swaddler can be folded and fastened to fit him pretty well -- no leaks at all! I am about to stock up on the 1-2 size because I know how versatile the sizing is on this line, and the 1-2 size is significantly cheaper than the preemie or newborn sizes. They are so soft -- no other type of diaper I have tried or heard of can compare. I feel good spending money on these(double with twins!) knowing that my sweet little guys will be comfortable and dry! I have read some not so great reviews on these, but I can at least assure any parent of a preemie that these are the best and only way to go!

Pampers Quality!! Get the Swaddlers!,

We highly recommend Swaddlers newborn over the Huggies newborn which seemed to leak more often and had an odd fit. The Pampers newborn size are soft and absorbent plus they also smell good. Buy them at Target or Walmart where you'll find better prices than on Amazon. The packages (40 count) we have bought recently have come with 10 free Pampers sensitive wipes. Great bonus!

Far less leakage than Huggies,

I also ordered these because I saw the cutouts for the cord online and was disappointed that there was no cutout; however, I could not find any other brand carrying cutouts either. Besides the initial disappointment though, I have found these diapers to be great for leakage protection. I tried Huggies Supremes, but they tended to leak (1-2 times every couple of days), even when I was changing every three hours or so - part of this may have been the fact that all the diapers in the package appeared to have bad elastic on one side. The Pampers Swaddlers were much better in quality (only 1-2 odd diapers in 4 packages), and they rarely leaked.
I did find that leakage protection was better when I switched to the diapers that were the next size up when my son was about 2 lbs lighter than noted on the package (at about 8-9 lbs, I swtiched to size 1). My son's now 15 lbs and I'm using the Cruisers 3 although he doesn't crawl yet and the package says 16-28 lbs- they fit very well and rarely do they leak. I did try the Huggies again before going back to Pampers and the Cruisers, but after getting almost daily leaks again, I've decided to stick to Pampers.

Not the Best Diapers for Newborns,
This review is from: Pampers Swaddlers Diapers, Newborn Sesame Street, 40-Count (Health and Beauty)
We love Pampers diapers and are using them now because of their superior absorbancy, but I have to tell you that when our two children were newborns that the Pampers Size "N" did not fit them very well. My daughter was on the tubby side while my son was on the skinny side and neither was serviced well by these diapers.
It was not so much a poopy problem for us, but a leak at night time problem which, lets face it, is no fun. My advice is to try Huggies first for your newborn, and to use Pampers for every size 1 and above.

Don't waste your money on anything else,
This review is from: Pampers Swaddlers Diapers, Newborn Sesame Street, 40-Count (Health and Beauty)
These diapers are wonderful! The best thing about Swaddlers as opposed to regular Pampers is the elastic that goes all around the waist. Not only does this give a perfect fit no matter your baby's size but it really does help prevent messy leaks. The extra couple of dollars you spend on Swaddlers is more than worth it. I only wish they came in larger sizes than N, 1 and 2!
